PvP or PvE Battle?

Is there a way to tell if a battle taking place is a PvP or a PvE battle? If there is and I just haven't picked up on it my apologies. But I would suggest different color battle icons in the open world to differentiate between the two.
Also it would be useful to have a hotkey that would activate a visual clue or an icon above the cross swords of a battle that would indicate if a player in the battle requires assistance of not. An icon of some kind of flag signal would seem suitable, I think. Perhaps the flag of the nation the player belongs to and the flag signal next to it showing that he's asking for help.  
I see a lot of battles where players jump into the battle when they are not needed. If a player in battle needed help for whatever reason, he could simply activate the signal and anyone who saw it would know to go in if they were inclined to provide such help.

There is no identifier that I know of.  Don't forget that it is now an attractive option to jump into a battle in the hope that you can loot another's kill.
