Doublons stack up to 10000. Bug or feature?

I'm not monitoring forum so sorry in case this has already been asked, but couldn't find anything using search.

Just wondering - Doublons stack up to 10k and there is only space for one Doublon stack in money chest meaning - if You have more than 10k, You need to keep some of them elsewhere - Is that a bug or "works as design", in other words - intentional behavior?

LOL, I got 9 doubloons for my combat efforts yesterday.  100k here I come

Just store them in a port, unless you plan to RP as scrooge Mc Duck you will be fine. Also the patrol zone just gives you doubloons for shooting your guns you don't even have to kill people. 20k damage is 2 5th rate ai kills.

It's like you can stack 9999 Logs, or Textile Machinery, or Parisian Furniture, but you cant stack over 10k doubloons in one slot?

hmm.....

I understand why would you theoretically not be able to sail around with a bunch of doubies in your captains chest, but warehouse?

the 10K is so that you can only take so much with you when you hope around ports and have it safe.  In reality you want to keep the majority of your DOubloons back at a safe port.  Only keep the chest half full so you can duck into ports and put them after battles safely in the chest.  Other wise the rest you will have to haul back to a safe port.

Oh... so it's to add more realism to the game? Good that devs have already handled all major realism-breaking issues like for example, bots sailing though land, which allowed them now to focus on fine-tuning things like this one.

What about reals then? Why those are not represented as "physical" items, but still - are used to buy things? They are  the currency after all as well, right?

there must have been a patch or something, cause out of 12 ships (traders and combat ships) I looted a got 0 D's! I also read in chat people saying I got 1000 D's on this ship, I got 2000 D's on that ship...but, so far nothing for me!
