What about other loot? Or you are only interested in doubloons? Other loot can be 10x more valuable than any amount of doubloons

ps

Considering you now require doubloons to craft ships of 4th rate or higher when those ships required combat marks to purchase the permit. You hello kittyed the player base by now requiring a pvp reward to do anything in game. Ships shouldn't require doubloons when you made combat marks convert to reals and made everything that cost combat marks now cost doubloons. This is not a fair trade off for the player base.

You can make doubloons too in pve.

The problem is the amount of time required to farm those doubloons. Since wednesday I have earned 1600 doubloons and I have played a lot of hours.

What do you mean that you can *make* doubloons too in PvE ?

Gentlemen,

today I sat here for hours, cracking 17 (!!!) AI-Traders in a row, without a single Doubloon in the loot.

Is that really necessary?

Edit: 19 (!!!)

Traders inbound or outbound, it Shows no difference, today.

Your luck with the RNG-gods is about as good as mine then. Last time I gave up on this game was when they gave us the RNG-crafting again, now I'm three months back and suddenly *everything* is made RNG. I'm about to feel like Naval Action is playing some kind of cosmic joke on me.

I played maybe 5-6 hours on PvE so far, trying to loot those elusive stacks doubloons that they say can drop even from AI traders. So far I killed maybe 20 AI and only the last one finally gave me a whooping 161 doubloons for my efforts.

Since patch I've only used my main account. I've played 3-4 hours of PvP, and 5-6 hours PvE. In PvE I sank 3-4 trader brigs, a trader snow, 4-5 LGVs, did one kill mission against a connie, and killed 5-10 various sized frigates in OW AI fleets. All of this btw, apart from the kill mission, I did within sight of an enemy port - with reinforcement zone. I figured; more risk=more rewards, and even tagged an AI fleet inside the enemy reinforcement zone (while players were sitting at the docks - one joined in a fast herc and ran away).

My first battle, a kill mission, gave me 38 doubloons reward. My last battle against 3 AI frigates, I looted 161 doubloons off my 20th AI kill approximately, an essex. This summarizes my total profits in doubloons. 191 doubloons in 5-6 hours. I teleported 8-9 times so far, so that leaves me 100 doubloons for 5-6 hours of effort. The good news is that in 450 more hours I can make my next L'Ocean. But it will "only" take me 15 hours to put a rattlesnake bowfigure on my ship, or 20 for to get navy structure.

In my experience so far, based on 5-6 hours of play, AI ships are 4 times more likely to be absolutely empty than having doubloons in their hold. 1/4th of the ships I looted were completely empty.

About other loot, I found some trade goods on some AI traders I killed. But my warship can only carry two or three of those back to port, and if I go back to port between every AI trader-kill I'll spend double the time on PvE. So I sank the cargo. I did loot a couple coles-bentinck pumps of some AI warships, but I don't imagine I'll get much doubloons for those.

Sort of.

The ONLY contract within my existing outpost footprint is 5 at 100,000 Reals each.  AND of course I had to spend doubloons teleporting to find that out.  Which means each of my teleports was worth 700,000 Reals each.

I'm expecting this to settle out with more contracts showing up in the next week or so.

Having said that, my question for the combat players is: do you have any meaningful reason to sell doubloons in the markets?

I am genuinely curious.  If there isn't any, the economy becomes unplayable for single-account merchants who are resource producers/crafters.  Good luck with that level 3 shipyard.  Or buying any extra labor.

Failure......

It's the first word that come to me about this update

Price in Doublon's are just too high .

A common player... 2 Hours game/day can expect 50 or 100 doublon a day if he his lucky.

If you want visit your outpost it cost you minimum 80 doublon's or spend your 2 hour's game sailing basic cutter between OP (if you can't visit them don't allow outpost just tell player's they have one port and must stay within the area ).

So Get a 4 rate with this economy become inpossible for the common player and i don't speak about first rate who will be reserved to a very very small Elite no life gamer's

Dev you comit a big S---

No more fun i believe i go to work when i start the game .

I would have to disagree now that I've gotten more used to the setup. The new gameplay a drastic shift from previous behavior patterns, but it's a shift I'm beginning to like more and more.

The MINUTE I left home waters and prowled unfriendly seas I was finding more AI traders and solo warships than I could blow through. At this point I've noticed doubloons are dropping, in significant numbers, from every 3rd or so ship on average.

The changes are actively promoting more emergent gameplay, less reliance on standard spawned missions, more emphasis on travel and exploration, and more organic flow of play with hunting, capturing, sailing to free ports to sell, etc. I no longer have the option of "playing it safe" and hugging reinforcement zone missions ad nauseum. The patch has many issues but I've already come to really enjoy the changes to the standard gameplay loop.

If you take the Patrol Zone mission and inflict 5k damage (say, sink two Tbrigs), you get now 600 doubloons (Information as of this morning after maintenance)

There is some loot to be taken also and yesterday I even got the insurance covering the loss of my 5th rate.

Plus whatever reward you get for fighting real PVP against other players involved.

And the Thrill and the Fun!

Captains, hotfix was deployed to fix incorrect distribution of Hunt and Search & Destroy missions.

To clarify, was that all that was fixed? The unbalanced payout between kills and assists is currently my bugaboo. Teaming up with a clanmate, we've noticed that , with near-parity in damage, whoever gets the kill on a ship gets approximately 15% of the payout the assist gets.

I understand that the PvP server is basically for PvP but with a map this large most of the time people are just sailing around not being able to do anything unless they get missions. @admin Is there a way to increase the AI ships in the PvP server to give people more to do than just sail around?

For smaller vessels the unit weight of trade goods at 100t becomes an issue due to small hold capacity. As you now have to go closer to enemy ports to catch traders you need to ensure you bring enough repairs along for the trip leaving you with very little cargo space.

Could you please say us which are the new books as well?

@admin a run down of the changes would be nice as some of them I can't tell if I lost something or gaine something with the name changes and it seems I have way less books known than I had before and now some or even mods.  Would help us test things better.

Thanks.

Two port battles results did not register due to a new tracking mechanic (related to fort damage) and broke. Our problem. And a big bug was found and fixed as a result
We will discuss compensation internally and will give it to all failed port battle participants for this big inconvenience. I think a special chest for all battles participants will make them less unhappy.

This sounds like a good time to return the old paint chest?  I mean i wasn't one of those with the failed PB's but I would be very happy if i got a Paint chest for that if I was one of those players. It's not like they aren't going to be all wiped before released any way?

I hadn't read all the post an this is what I just suggested the reward would be paint chest.....That along with so many where lovely paints that we haven't seen in over a year (since wipe of the servers).

is it normal now to cap 1st rate AI and bring them out of battle and put them on shop?

there are a lot of them green/crew space around some markets...

Nassau's port screen has a dock that is designed for much larger ships causing the view to be blocked. Being a shallow water port, no one will be able to see the starboard side of their ship until this dock is changed. Hope you look into it.

@admin Doubloon rewards for PVP/Battle kills seem to be still based on the old pvp rewards scale, will these be adjusted like the patrol zone payouts?

Where did you get it ?

As far as I can see, it seems that the new system of modules stacking (mentioned by devs earlier) was implemented in this patch. Now you can't group modules with the same icon on one ship, even if you could do it before.

But there are nothing about in in patchnotes...

You should be able to capture the ship in the instance.. but you cannot take it out of the instance to OW (it will be taken over by admiralty with hold)
can you confirm you were able to sail it to port? Can you provide the screen of the vessel?  And final question. are you on the pvp server?

I can not provide screenshots becuase I haven't done it myself yet. If you capture them than leave them before you leave yourself it is possible.

And yes I am on PvP server

Get rid of teleport fees

remove this, it kills the game. Not funny anymore to pay for every teleport. and to sail every time with the basic cutter to check contracts and farms cost me to much freetime.

UI is great., Bad weather  waves as in the past would be bring more different fight gameplay.

was an amazing feature !!!!!!!!!!! very REALISTIC
