Getting a new player into the game

@admin This goes to show how valuable the DLC ships are not only for funding the game but also for new / casual players. My mate now plays PvP and plans on doing so regularly, because he has no fear of losing his ship - my mate said what stopped him from playing the most was his hate of crafting and fear of losing his ship. The daily redeem possibility of the DLC gave us one more PvP player providing content for others in return.

DLC ships are great, but not when they are arguably the most powerful ship of their class.

I am glad your friend is enjoying the game and enjoying the herc, it's just unfortunate that the herc renders the cerb, renomee, and surprise useless, as well as being able to go into the shallows.

To be perfectly honest maybe they are overperforming but more than anything it is hype. Being so readily available makes the DLC ships ever present and people die a lot to them and thus think they are overpowered... Requin was nerfed already along with crew bonuses that made her really broken and the hercules is a very potent ship indeed but don't forget it has only 200 crew. 

And last but not least, no matter how much you buff, nerf and rebalance, there will always be "meta ships" and this is becomes even more true, the more ships we get and the harder it will be to balance them. I would prefer the DLC ships to not be OP but very potent and a valid choice, giving every pleb out there a chance to come back again and again as long as he is willing to fight, with a ship that is worth fighting in. Also the price of the DLC ships is very reasonable and every ship sold helps funding the game we all love. 

Admin said all ships will be rebalanced anyways so I am not sure how strong the DLC ships will be in the future. Personally I hope they stay among the strongest ships in their tier.
