Karpfanger Posted September 27, 2018 Posted September 27, 2018 my feedback up to now - I'm a little bit confused about the many overlapping windows - selcted ship diplayed in collision with the pier was a bad first impression - I don't like the feeling to be outside the port if i'm inside ... this should be an other atmosphere inside the port ... taverns, goods, shipyards ... this impression should be diffenrent from the open world This are only my first impressions after 20min ... I have to test it longer time
Bartholomew.E.Dogg Posted September 27, 2018 Posted September 27, 2018 First impressions are that the new port UI is a little cluttered, will get use to it in time no doubt but at the moment seems to take much longer to do the various "in port" tasks. Main issues for me; not being able to see most of my warehouse contents (in the order I put them in) in one quick glance. Rewards claimed in port for completed missions drop into ships hold overloading ship, would it not be better to go to warehouse or Captains chest.

But will focus on one thing at a time - don't know what to think of the mix of OW port with the rest of the UI. It is not that I dislike it ( it reminds me of how Tempest does it, which i actually like ) but... I would propose two tryouts for this. - "standing on the deck" way. So when in port we would be on the ship we select ( or with no ship, looking at the pier with the crates and barrels ). Like this: - alternatively remember this you made so long ago 8

A deck view is nice for rp dudes but shows nothing of the ship

I can hardly believe that to be a thing... but good point anyway.

Still the ship maybe different views (from the deck masts etc) with a nice scaled harbour (I personally wouldnt mind when all port UIs would look the same - could be updated overtime) but ship should be focus. Ortac Posted September 27, 2018 Posted September 27, 2018 (edited) It takes a while for the most commonly used icons/buttons/tabs to become instinctive. But once there, it's no problem. Haven't yet found any glaring faults or oddities. Cost of mining iron ore is excessive, to put it mildly. (ps - First time in over two years of owning NA I have seen a Santa Cecilia in the flesh in OW. Not only that, an AI ship. fremen Posted September 27, 2018 Posted September 27, 2018 IMHO, after testing a lot the craft/resources, would be better the warehouse are like the old system, a small square with the name of the item and the quantity. The actualy list, as ship hold, will be very chaotic in a warehouse with a lot of items, resources, upgrades, books, notes, etc.. 1

But my ship is a bit too alone in what is meant to be a port. Some docked ships (maybe different each time) would be nice. For decorative purposes. I find that it is less manageable than the old style where we could see a much higher number of items. BTW, I love the UI overall and the new additions to money and missions. Haven't crafted a ship yet but it looks super easy and that is great! 1
