IceBurg Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 Is it just me or does anyone else miss actually "Being" in port, As if one were in a town, i like the idea of being able to see my ship at port, but the open world background kinda gets in the way, for instance, maybe, have trading done in town with a static background, and then park at port before sailing, to check weather and wind, seeing the boat always in open water makes it feel like you just stayed on the docks. 8

Academy if I remember correctly allowed you to make labor contracts. Forge is the new workshop where it allows you to make cannons. I always thought workshops where needed to make other things too. I believe we have a building for that now. If you paid the 1000 coin and 2000 coin for two more tittles than it would say Plot Available in those slots too until you put an outpost down. 2

You will click on gun slot and it shows guns in your hold and warehouse you have that you can equip in this slot. But i think if you did not have guns and had to buy them you also needed 3 windows. 1 You had to go to equipment screen to check for class. 2 then you went to shop and bought guns. 3 then you went back to equipment screen and equipped them. The only difference is that warehouse window opened itself even if you only needed to check your equip Now you can click 3 shortcuts and do all at the same time. 6

They felt different for me at least the old version was less chaotic. The windows now are just all over the place. (OK maybe it's kind age of sail experience when the ship was in port and the captains desk was overstuffed with lists, bills etc) For example the window with the surprise could be vertical for me instead of horizontal.(slots and instead on the right side the ship stats they are below) Last but not least I really would like to be able to scale the windows. I strongly agree. What I envisioned was something similar to the home city view of Age of Empires 3. Basically you had the scenerey of a harbour town with people and ambient noise and you had several distinctive buildings ( academy, workshop, trading company, market, harbour etc. ) that the camera would pan to, if you selected them and where you would then be able to deal with the related upgrades. Maybe something @admin might consider for the future? 11
Knobby Posted September 26, 2018 Posted September 26, 2018 Docks are absolutely massive. The entire hull of the frigate fits under them with room to spare, docks are easily as high as a threedecker. It's a real shame cus it makes the big ships look tiny. I don't like that you need a building to craft reps, especially since reps are basically semi finished products anyway that are made to fit by the carpenter and bosun and their mates.
