Grundgemunkey Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 (edited) i suggest for more content that due to undrground earthquake or volcanic activity ,,,, small new islands appear .... they are not marked on map but reports appear similar to sunken fleet reports of a general area .. these islands can not be taken by a nation ,,, and you cannot open an outpost ,, but anyone can place a contract.. reason being thses islands have a variety of resources that are valuable in game such as copper, gold . cartegena tar etc .. after a period of time the island sinks back into the sea benefits are players can access rare resources for a limited time .. as there is no outpost avaialbe just an anchorage ,so no tow or tp ,, if you want to set up a contract or redeem it you have to sail there ... there maybe some players who feel that taking the resources off others is a more profitable exercise .. therefore to protect your ship and resources you may want to sail with other playesr escorting you therefore more pvp. also to stop players putting up large contracts at large prices ... when the island sinks .. if you have a contract awaiting to be filled in place that contract and the money sinks with the island ... some islands will stay for a wek or two some just a day or two Edited September 12, 2018 by Grundgemunkey 4
Licinio Chiavari Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 (edited) I totally agree about adding meaningful exploration as another good pve activity (as I read about serious and active fishing/whaling). I think could be far better reducing (even by a good 50%) in map ports and adding hidden anchorages that could be seen only passing by at very close range in OW. Upon finding, it will show off in player OW map and he will be able to open a (limited) outpost, like no or only 1 building, limited berthed ships etc... They should be seen also, if already occupied by a player, by passing close other players and should be attackable (with result of destroying it - temporary settlement v permanent ones) in a simplified way respext of PBs. This will give sense to exploring (like adding and so finding deep ship passages into shallows) and chances to dedicated explorers to find potential hideouts for themselves or "selling" location to other players. Tiedemann Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 (edited) We have the sunken fleet event that give dead mans chest with stuff in it, we have epic events that give gold and silver chests with stuff in it and we have the sealed bottles ship wreak that guarantees to give us rare resources. I would like to see random drop of small amounts of resources and materials in all ports all over the map, that would drop every hour. So all ports can drop everything in small amounts in addition to the locked standard drop we have now. Then players can get more pleasant surprises when checking out the shops in ports and the real traders are rewarded for exploring distant ports and sailing around in the OW by finding small amounts of all the good stuff.
