Specialty ships like that would make better imported ships in the future that aren't going to be PB or OW battle OP and a pain to balance. In fact all the imported ships in the future could be just Refits with new paints of ships we have in game with slight state changes. As for up gunning ships would be interesting to test out this on other ships and the effects of putting max gun would effect ships more than they do now. You will only get top speeds out of certain cannon loads while others none traditional heavy would effect stats more than they do right now. Other than speed heavy gun loadout doesn't really effect ships that much and even that is so small.

Great to hear that you worked out more for NAVAL ACTION. I play nothing else since a long time! Seeing that you still tweak values, I would like to hint again to do more with FIRE values and consequences. If a ship on FIRE would have more trouble fighting (crew all busy), or more resulting damage (sails?), this would bring new aspects into combat. Also, this would make more fire-resistent woods interesting for ship building again, like MAHOGANY. Right now, MAHOGANY has hardly any meaning. BUT: you are on a good way and I feel I'll sail NA for a long time. Perhaps you consider selling PAINT packages or single PAINTs for small money - you might be asthonished how much money you could make with this? I'd buy them, if not too expensive. And every lost ship would refuel the business... 1

But i do agree with @Banished Privateer some of the BR choices are a little out there :P. honestly probably just means we thought the 3rd rate was so utter crap, now it deserves a spotlight lol. admin Posted August 29, 2018 Author Posted August 29, 2018 If battle rating is affected by sustained battle performance and usage rate it will always generate outliers, sometimes lowering its rating below lower classed ships. It will become and feel normal, once everyone consider br not as arbitrary number based not only on ship stats but how this stats affect battle performance (new missions wont be BR based but will be class based) Excepted outcome: Port battles will definitely be more diverse now. And ships that were avoided before will get used more. Which will in turn could increase the rating. If performance does not change - then ships stats definitely need to be addressed. Couple of iterations and the ratings will stabilize. 1
