Tow a 1st rate? 5 million gold. Something like that.

No price for tow should be real life time:

sailing there 3h

Tow there 4h

Either that or when a tow happens, an AI of that description leaves the port with a "towing" tag. Enemy players can then intercept and sink the AI returning it back to the port it originated. Make it cost money so that it's not guaranteed to work every time.

You could even go one step further an allow people to cap 5th rate tow ships and below, preventing them being returned to their owner. You can get lovely mail like;

"Towed ship lost"

"Your LGV was intercepted by player x from nation y from a to b. It was lost with all hands"

nice idea but in this case all ships should be capturable also 1st rate, but ship needs too be empty no using tow to transport goods

I’ve been arguing for a year, since the last time they changed it basically, that they need to bump up open world speeds by a factor of two. This would shrink the game world, allowing us to move ships and goods on the open world faster without having to resort to tows to do it which would limit player interactions.

The OW barrier as gateway to the instanced content of action, trading, and crafting is just too high, and that’s what limits the population who will sustain Naval Action.

That would basically destroy any solo raiding as hordes of people could converge on the location of your battle instance immediately. Hell it's bad enough now.

I have been sunk probably 100+ times while afk sailing in OW.. Yes it provides other players with "PvP" content, but it is boring as hell most of the time.. The biggest issue this game has is the time sink, that is why players leave. To much time spent compared to how much fun game play they get.

When we were forced to sail everywhere I quit the game. That shit was just not funny!

I want and support more tows!

And for real -> It's not like I will be sailing around in OW any less with more tows available to me.. But some people might not understand that xD

Tows and teleports are breaking the game with them people just try to cap any port they remotly think its good then others complain becouse they need too sail across half a map or more. if they had too sail 2hours+ too reach port they will at least be sure port is worth the time. Basicaly if port across the map is so important players should team up and sail there as fleet supported by traders with repairs

One tow a day as it stands currently isn't so bad, and clans still have to transport reps and rum to a port battle (logistics).

I would say leave as it is 1 a day is plenty, and if people need to defend more ports than they have capacity then it's a consequence of over extension.

How about a compromise?(although i don`t like them)

1 Tow per day stays as it is, if you want a 2nd one, you need to pay double price of the 1st tow, 3rd tow costs double price of the 2nd.

And how ever the soultion might look like, this money we pay for the tow, needs to go to PORTS, and not disappear in internet.

I want more tows so i can tow all my ships on one day in order to prepair a nation switch. It sucks to wait up to a week in order to tow all my ships. login tow log out wait login .. repeat.

Switching nations was never easier before. You can't play the game because you're in the X nation? You don't want to wait for tows? Sail all your ships in OW to free town, like a civilized player, that's what we all did.

but loss :( Tows are good to deny other players content. I just want to tow my ships and never use them. And with the new crafting rng luck outside the safezone i dont want to get intercepted while sailing all my crafted gunless gold ships back. I need more tows. 50 tows seems like a good thing.

To be fair I towed all of mine, it took 2 weeks though.

A compromise: I’d vote for 1 tow per day but it comes from a shipyard. You could only tow once and only from a port where you have a shipyard. No shipyard in the port, no tow.

You can't tow with stuff in the hold, so it's not cutting into bagging traders. Only really people who need to put a PVP ship somewhere else.

Let’s see. I have an Indiaman. I sail it from Willemsted to La Mona, full of goodies. I tow it back to WS, fill it full of goodies, sail to La Mona. Tow it back. It cuts the time my valuable trader ship is your target by half. That’s how multiple tows would screw with trade and the economy.

So in the case you do get attacked, you'll always have a cargo load which maybe a pvper would prefer to catching you on the way back with nothing valuable in hold.
