Merge, XP, etc Help

So I wasn't here for the merge, apparently. I was off doing other games, been playing Naval Action for a few years now. I had an old acc on the Caribbean server, but apparently it's apart of a nation I didn't want. Deleting that account and creating a new one wouldn't let me keep the XP I've transferred to the other account, nor anything else, would it? I'd rather not grind all the way to the top again.

There is a DLC in Steam called Forged papers that will allow you to change in-game nation and/or character name. This is the only way to keep assets and experience.

Another way is to delete a character and create a new one, but you will lost all progress on the old character, the new character will start from scratch.

Not quite.  If you had already done the Final Exam and then delete your character, you will start in your new nation as the M&C rank.  I did it and was very pleasantly surprised.  Unfortunately, that meant I was unable to do the tutorial and get the goodies.

The Final Exam? I noticed there was a tutorial, although I didn't go through it. What's the Final Exam? At the moment I'm a Kaptien, I can have 280 crew, and I'd rather not lose all I've worked for.

On Tutorial screen, check the left side. There's 3 options.

You will lose nothing and gain some goodies....Many repairs and a nice mod.  Couple of ship notes.

You never have to do it.  Completing it will give some nice rewards though.  I suggest if you are deleting your character that you wait until the new character is started before you do it.

Well you mentioned it brought you up to M&C rank by completing it, right?

Correct.  But if you are going to delete your character, wait till you start your new one and do the tutorial.  That way you will go immediately to M&C rank and have all the goodies.  If you do it before you delete, you will have to find a way to transfer all that stuff or lose it.
