We should stop the ship even more quicker using the anchor. Not in OW but in battle at least. Imagine the sound... The anchor impacting with the water...

And more crew interactions similar like this, would make this game more unic.

Continue the great work developers.

That's very unrealistic.  The anchor is not a brake and if the water was actually shallow enough for it to grip the bottom (highly unlikely), it would cause serious damage to the ship.  Plus you would lose your anchor.

That's why i did the post, thanks for the video.

For sure the ship crashed some woods. But they home again.

I'm in favor.. More magic is what this game really needs! (*Holding up a sign* "SARCASM")

well nice thought , in a unrealistic way ,but aother one in that category

is cutting the mast like a tree, and the force is out of your hull

and the ship makes a death stop in 2 sec

its not realistic

only wind and force are inportant for a ship to stop not a anchor

sorry

Thats some amazing disney rope, doesnt even snap after cutting into the planking. And that thin ring thing attaching the anchor to the rope looks real strong to, wow

I hope the Devs aren't taking Pirates of the Carribean as a historical reference!

But it was in color and on the TV so it must be true..........

I think they also did something similar in Black Sails.

How an Anchor mechanics could be implemented - Drop anchor will stop much faster when compared to T, anchor will drag and slow you down to stationary and turn your ship based on left/right side drop and rudder positioning. Recovery time - 1 minute. This means you can't sail away even with the raised sails and you are a sitting duck until anchor is fully recovered.

You can sit on anchor and rotate 360 to the left or 360 to the right using only sails.

In fact, if you're going more than 2 or 3 knots, anchor and cable will be torn out of your ship.  But not before the cable destroys the forward part of your ship and kills a bunch of your crew.  Unless its a Disney movie...or you'd drag it...

And you cant rotate on an anchor 360 degrees.  If you put a spring on it, you can rotate a few degrees.

All depends what is on the bottom. Sand and broken shells will do the trick my friend. On the other hand, if you hit the reef then you are right.

lol, you cant stop a 1000 ton ship suddenly.

Did I say anything about suddenly? Anchor will drag and slow you down much faster when compared to T command. It could be similar to brace command with recovery time.

Trust me, if the anchor grabs, its sudden catastrophe.

I understand, but this is a game and any content is welcome.
