Teutonic Posted May 9, 2018 Posted May 9, 2018 I must say, I rarely see a reason to use it except to make lots of smoke. maybe the @admin can tell us a time that random fire mode is good? otherwise I agree, it doesn't have any advantages to the 2 other options.

Kjartan Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 ive found that random fire is best suited to grape shot
Capt Jubal Early Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 My thoughts on it. Bind random fire to the square brackets for a start. The squares are for un aimed repeated fire. OR have a modifier to hold along side left click to fire a random shot broad side. For example hold shift and left click will fire randomly. 2

That is probably the best firing-mode suggestion I’ve heard so far - especially if you set front firing mode to default and use key combos to shoot backfire/random. That could potentially completely eliminate “accidental broadsides”.

I do use Random fire on several occasions and want to keep it as an option. Having it separate from the cycle is good for everyone. 1
