Gently Turn AWAY from his bow - stern direction and all his shots will miss. If he uses random many shots will still hit as you have to turn more and lose more speed renomee style 1

How about an option for players to choose to enable / disable random fire in the options? I personally barely ever use random fire, most of the times to get a nice screenshot of the battery fire. I just accidentally hit random fire way too frequently, and as a result mess up my broadside. Having an option to disable it, so not taking it away from everyone who wants to use it, would be the best compromise IMO. 5

That what bring me this idea...switch off in options would be great and all will be happy. 1
surfimp Posted June 15, 2017 Posted June 15, 2017 There is so much time and so few buttons to press in this game versus many others... I am not even particularly good but I don't mind having to pay a modicum of attention. With that said I am 99.999% of the time in rolling front due to the type of ships I sail and engagements I typical find myself in... these posts from admin are giving me ideas 3
TrackTerror Posted June 15, 2017 Posted June 15, 2017 As some suggested give random fire mode higher ROF. Currently I only use it by misstake and fail to see advantages enough to have it on normal firemode cycle.

Duncan McFail Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 Whomever is defending random fire is smoking something. It's utterly useless. If it was simultaneous fire it would make sense. With a same mechanics as random with a much shorter delay between cannon fire it would even be realistic. 2

Put it in a different shortcut, not in the front/rear fire cycle key. That way don't have to use it if you don't want Cool beans 1

It would be the exact same functionality except the cannons would actually fire off faster therefore making it useful. I can understand rolling front and rolling back along with there uses, but there is no use for random fire unless it fires off the cannons much faster. Historically they did fire a whole broadside at once and it wasn't perfectly timed, but it was a lot faster. How about decrease the time between single shotting, leave it on simultaneous fire, and the nostalgics can still use a useless firing mode
Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 Because then I can use it and you don't have to use it ( as long as it is away from the brace key ! ) As per manuals the stagger fire of batteries ( divisions ) is the random. There's no simultaneous fire anywhere. Also Maturin already posted something about the timing of the broadside.

HamBlower Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 It would be much more helpful if we will be able to load different amunition per cannon deck 3

Liq Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 Yeah be nice to have some more hotkeys options, eg. Aim guns on a side to left / right
Percival Merewether Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 I suggested seperate keys for firemodes a while ago and Admin seemed to approve of the idea, I have not heard anything about it since - it could be a part of the new UI.
