Patch 21: Tiered rewards in patrol missions, redeemable clearance and other changes.

Captains,

Patch was deployed today. 

Redeemable clearance.

  • Unused ships, items, cannons, mast upgrades, XP for ship slots (merged from Global PVP) and forged papers were removed from the redeemables box. For more information please check this announcement:

What's new:

  • Tired rewards added to patrol missions:
    • 1st tier: 5000 damage - 3 PVP marks
    • 2nd tier: 20000 damage -10 PVP marks
    • 3rd tier: 70000 damage - 20 PVP marks
    • 4th tier: 200000 damage - 30 PVP marks
    • 5th tier: 500000 damage - 50 PVP marks
      • Next tier unlocks automatically once previous tier damage threshold is completed
      • Current damage done can be checked either in a port or on the map (by pointing out on the mission's swords)
  • Players can only take one patrol mission per day. If you claimed a reward you can take another patrol mission only after next maintenance.
  • Players passing by through patrol area without active mission will be warned that they are in patrol area.

Other changes:

  • Epic Events fleet composition rebalanced to provide increasing variety in ship types.
  • Visuals of the selection circles around ships were additionally improved.
  • PVP drop only works if ships sink - so after you boarded an enemy and sank the ship - check the loot it might have an upgrade in it.

Fixed bugs:

  • Fixed bug that allowed dismantling of permanent module by exchanging own ship with a fleet ship
  • Outside Battle Zone Timer now works correctly if player reconnected to patrol instance.

how when its one mission and different tiers. When should NA know that you want to claim reward other than max tier or you click claim?

Ingame it doesnt look like you take a tier 1 mission or a tier 2 mission. Its one mission with all tiers.

I dont understand the system like you can get 113 pvp marks.

When you reach tier1 you can either choose to keep doing the patrol or you claim the reward.

When you keep doing you can reach the next reward tier a la 10 marks. If you choosed to claim you get the 3 pvp marks and you have to wait till maintance.

@Ink pls give clarification

Didnt try it, but i think it works like this: You go to patrol area and do your damage. Let's say you did 6k damage, then there will be a "Claim 3 pvp marks Reward" button available. If you claim it you cant take another patrol mission until next maintenance. But if you not claim it, the damage you've done will keep counting and when you come to 20k, there should be a claim 10 pvp marks button. Just claim the reward if you think you are done for today.

PS: This is not confirmed information, just how i think it works.

No, you have to visit a port and claim the reward.

I understand this. My post is just a suggestion that it could be automated. It's sometimes hard to decide wherever you finished fighting in the zone, and it's easy to forget claiming rewards at the end of the day.

Without the new ROE or BR limits ya'll talked about this is only going to encourage big gank squads to just roam around and destroy every thing keeping the little guys out of the play.  We all ready see it in the events the last week just like when we had the PvP events in the past now it will just encourage it even more with those rewards.

lets say you are at teir 3 and you stop playing  but you want to come back later to finish tier 5 how should the game know about your plans?

I have never seen bucs, ocean, niagaras, trincos, endymions, indefatigable, rattle heavy, wasa, indiamans....

They use to have some of those in some of the battles back after the wipe if I remember right.   It was right before they took the Rattler and Niagrars out of the game.

BR limits will come within one of the next patches.

Yah, but prob should of waited until it was ready.   I'll just avoid that are until than.   It was fun when we had some 2 vs 3 or 4 vs 2 but this 12 vs 2-3 guys got old real fast with every one joining one side.

Unfortunately Admiralty clerks demand Captain's presence to transfer the reward:(

I tried claiming reward at tier 1 lvl, it beings up a "Are you sure?" box with the tier level rewards and informs you you will be ending your patrol if you accept. It also outlines the required damage for lvl 2 and up.

Well done devs.

 

After a brief nap I will get back in to try to get the top ring!

i think when they put in the  ui

it will announced greatly with drums and music :)

So how is this being promoted, does it work so people wishing to defend their local area or capital have better rewards from all those PvP gankers that camp those areas farming PvP to try get more people to work out of capital territory? or is it you can now select a patrol county and proceed to farm even more PvP from that area like all the farmers already exploiting those areas?

So far we have seen 3 spots:

North East of La Navasse (deep waters)

North of Shroud Cay (shallow waters)

East-North East of Tumbado (deep waters)

Suppose to be Aves too but some odd reason it hasn't popped yet that I noticed.

Ok...

Losing the mission and any unclaimed rewards at reset is not acceptable for a global game.  I'd like to suggest a timer be granted so all players have 24 hours to complete the mission from the time they accept it.

We never gave any indication to this
please do not build castles in the sky in your mind  - OR you will be disappointed. We will let you know when we know the eta on UI

  1. you cant lose that mission
  2. just like deleting the outpost without reading the warning you can only make the mistake once.

But the main reason is simple
Event changes location on maintenance and thus must distribute rewards before maintenance, there is no other way.  Simple and clear rules, want to log off - click a button.
Also Claiming takes less than 1 min in a port.

I understand the limitations you are working with, but there could be work arounds...  Leave all of the patrol zones are always active for example and only people with the mission gets credit, so if it moves to a different location tomorrow anyone still with the mission would be able to complete whatever they can before their 24 hrs are up, and then they would only be able to take a mission for the most recent zone.  My concern is around players in different timezones.  Its all good if reset happens while you are alseep or at work, but for some I understand reset often even happens middle of primetime play hours.

Your not suppose to get the maxed out ever day.  DO your grind, get your reward if you lucky you might get 10+ marks.  Only the die hards will ever reach that max pay out and I don't see it happening without a lot of hours doing it.
