Patch 19: Mega Patch with new patrol missions, new hostility, victory marks for small clans, and other changes.

Can be abused I can just keep a low rank char and only hunt that area in safety if you do that.  Believe me I killed a number of full rank chars with my low level alts in games before including this one.

Look at cartagena. 3millions per day. So the clan owner could only afford to sustain 6 ports with timers.

Look at Esteros either Little Harbour. 800k today, so they will be able to sustain 2 ports with timers.

 

Do you understand devs the great amount of salt and drama this will cause on the server? The effort of many nations during many months just destroyed in one patch.

Maybe the ports price should scale depending on it's profits.   Cart port is 500K a day but some random port that doesn't pay for it's upkeep should be 100K.   That are just limit clans to only be able to set timers to up to 10 ports.  500K is going to kill the little clans that might just own one or two ports and make little profit from them.  We shouldn't punish a small clan that holds one port in a timer that they can only defend in.

More copper ports.  Create a mod that is similar and place it somewhere on the map making that port worthwhile.  Increase the amount of teak/lo/wo ports.  

That are make it step up according to the type of port.  Cart and the Copper ports 500K.   High income ports 250K all other ports 100K.  Or like you said move more reseources out to these ports and have none in safe zones.

But it also kills the small clans that can only defend in one time zones.  How many ports does WO have?  Are ya'll going to be paying 500K a day to keep them in your best time slot to defend?  500K a day adds up real fast even for one port.

 Accuracy of these guns was not the issue, it was their rate of fire and damage for their class (4) compared to other cannon of this class (18lb). Poods will remain the gun to take it seems. Which is a shame.

 

No mention of increasing looting range. Even though admin has stated this was meant to be increased several patches ago and was forgot.

I would like to throw this out there as it is something I want to see instead of nerfing the accuracy of guns-

1.Bring back the demasting and sectioned mast HP (where demasting was more prevalent) and unique than it is now.

2.Delete the red aiming bar

3.Delete the aiming vertical spread (essentially no aiming aid in the game)

4. Allow us to fire cannons/broadsides without going into the fire mode, to where you can shoot just by looking in that direction- zooming in on your deck will give the player more accuracy visually to see where the shots are landing

This is a more realistic attempt to make perfect broadsides harder to achieve. Or allow this feature for those of us who want more of a challenge. Im sure @TrashiRokuwont have such an easy time demasting.

the Yacht is the best example you can redemm it after 24h ours ( in this case its just a over glorifyed Cutter with larger hull as target and fancy painting) wich you can similar to Nodes select Wood Type and Planking. Yacht can be traded and sold. Larger vessels will have a far larger timer beeing once a week or twice a month for a single dura nothing game braking.

Santa Cecilla aka Bloody Hermione is a Premium/special reward ship a medicore 12lb Frigate similar in handling like Belle Poule but with 2 Front Chasers.

No. Don't complicate everything... It's not 1:1 simulator, aiming mechanic is good atm.

look in direction 

hold left mouse button

hit space bar

 

that is how you fire without going into gunnery view.

Yah but when you use the spyglass you should be able to tell what the ship is and who it might be/name of ship.   With this feature we can't even do that.  So we might be working with a clan from one nation and fighting another clan of that nation but now we can't see which is which.

@adminI'll be bluntly honest that if this feature remains I'll loose interest in OW hunting as I like to know who I'm fighting or not fighting before hand instead of hitting random players.  I let low levels go some times and will run from a feared captain/fleet if I"m not a match for him.   Now you just took all that options out of the game with this.  Make it where you have to be in range and use the spyglass than you get the player names and ship info and I'll be happy, but with no means to get this until battle starts.   Forget it....this will not encourage casuals and new players to fight.

Great patch! 

However, you should be able to identify players. Perhaps within a certain radius or in the spyglass view.

regarding ship sinking time - 30% increase in time for sinking ships that already sinking - to pick up loot
regarding enemy names - Only enemy names are not shown in the open world. You will still be able to see all names in battles

Really great patch. Could you elaborate on your plans for premium ships a bit? What makes the premium ship special? Also what about paints? Are the DLC's for paints planned or as PvP reward or both?

OW names like many other features were part of testing functionality; for example tow to port feature was never originally planned to be kept in the final version, but… will stay.
With names we are sure, removal of names will create more tension and will make pvp more exciting. 

Realistically you cannot really find out the name of the captain from 25km - you cant really see the ship from this distance in reality (only topsail); you could of course know that certain captain is operating in the area and you can find it too from the combat newspaper in game.

If you see that a famed danish captain sinking enemies near tortuga in combat news and you see a ship in the open world that this famed captain sails a lot (with a danish flag), thats most likely him. Thats recognition. If you attack him you will know who it is for sure.

OW pms with enemies are disabled from the attack tab. as sending a private message and seeing his name in chat defeats the purpose of hiding the name.
You can still PM with enemies using search of course, or through global chat

Just please make this an option for players and not a requirement. I can see why you would want implement this but in some situations I would want other people to know who I am especially if you have alliances between clans in other nations. Add another check mark next to smuggler or have the smuggler tag hide your name and rank as well.

Will the nation flag be visible in OW now,so we can identify the player by nation not only by ship size?

dispersion has very little to do with dismasting but ok
