However, I think I have something that might bring some skill, create content and quell the hardcores that don't love RNG. Master Builders These Master builders will be randomly found at ports. You could provide notice of these builders locations using the combat news but I think a message in a bottle is the right way to do it. These builders for a "price" will provide a refit service so you can unlock extra perm slots. A max of 2 since the final 5th slot should be completely RNG based. This creates content by encouraging captains to be out at sea to find that message but it also puts prized ships out at sea since you need to bring the ship to the master builder to get refitted. Not only will you get that solo captain going to these ports but whole escort groups. Since the ports move around, some nations will be able to take advantage of this for PVP. These master builders should stay at their location for 2-3 days giving everyone enough time to plan trips or defenses. Edited February 4, 2018 by koiz 6

Ronald Speirs Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 We have been through RnG before and it was terrible then and its terrible now, wish the devs would do the proper work to fix this game instead of wasting time on the same crap we never liked the first time!
GrubbyZebra Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 Here's my problem with the RNG in crafting ships: It means that the outcome of an average battle is not reliant on the participants skill in fighting or outfitting his ship, but rather which ship has more buffs. You can now have a ship with multiple speed, armour, reload, and repair buffs without ever taking into account the knowledge slots. This completely undermines the PvP aspect of the game.
