Saving not in ports

Hello, today i will play for a couple of hours, i want to test something. What i want to test, sorry but it’s classified. Nothing about nuke explosions in some atolls, anyway. Pity... 

 

My name ingame is Martin Connor and if someone find me sailing around, can of course try to sink me.

It will take at very best 4.36 minutes at all due my noobness, but still

My question: if i log out while i am sailing, the game remember my position or must i restart, next time, from a port?
