I recall admin saying they have no issues in this regard and considering their CWUG games success and the fact that NA sold over 100k copies at almost 40bucks, I have no problem seeing why... but yeah, even tho they make plenty cash I like supporting the game and if they sell some overpriced DLC that gives really nice and exclusive paintjobs, I'll happily let them milk me.

Oh yeah, for sure a multi-use, account-bound unlock, not a one-time respray. Anything else would be asinine.

Maybe they could give a selection of historical ship names that fit like for USS Constitution as alternative USS President? But I don't see how it would add much to the game to be honest...

They had the same concern in Elite Dangerous but eventually gave in. There's a fairly strict content filter on the ship names, so if you name your vessel something like HMS SlickDickPussydestroyer2000MLG420Blazeit it turns the whole thing into asterisks. It is somewhat overzealous even (try calling your ship a Grapefruit and you get asterisks too).

Maybe they can enable the ship naming for the PvE server only, we're a bunch of old farts anyway and curse exclusively in period-appropriate Queen's English.
