Increase how far we can zoom out

Title says it all really, it would be nice to be able to zoom out a bit further on the standard camera, I feel sometimes it is too close especially with the larger ships

 

(I am aware I could use the free cam before anyone points it out )

Would be nice at least to be able to see the name of the guy sailing right beside you when you're in 1st rates without clicking on the map or using the free cam.

I personally think camera is too close, it would be nice to have an option to zoom out further, so we can see the whole ship and not just cut off masts.

Yeah, in a group of large ships it can be hard to see and select more distant things beyond neighboring ships.

We can zoom with HOME key twice and pressing ] key, more you press, more you zoom out. This is temporary, map view, port etc. will reset to default. 

I would love to have some preset camera views like flight sims, as well as a save camera position slot.

Love to be able to control the ship from the camera view.  Problem solved.

You could add saved camera positions ... but just being able to control the ship from the camera view would be fantastic.
