Peter Fouche Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Ship management on long voyages. Food and water storages, should be able to launch boats to land to gather fresh water and food. The open world is going to be AWESOME!! 1
'Sharpe Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 Suggestion: Whistles should be faction-unique I love the concept of whistles that signify a change in focus (Gunnery, Sailing, Survival), but it struck me suddenly as odd that every nation would have the exact same sounds associated with their actions. Historically, the Royal Navy would have different audible cues than the Spanish Navy, whose cues are different from the Dutch, etc. Allowing faction-unique whistles has two benefits: Battle experience of the captains matters more. If I've never fought against the Swedish before, for example, I'm at a disadvantage versus a captain who is familiar enough with what their overheard cues mean. It's cool for immersion. Currently, there's nothing that feels different about fighting a Dane versus a Pirate versus, anything. This unique audio for each nation would have the nice effect of making combat against an uncommon foe seem appropriately new and memorable. 2
Henna Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Masts damage improvement Masts were not mostly broken by direct impact, but due to rigging failures. A correct damage model, from my point of view, would better be based on this. The consideration of masts as rigid pillars that are broken by pure shocks, mades modelling a "correct" behaviour quite a hard thing.

BrutishVulgarian Posted October 31, 2015 Author Posted October 31, 2015 There seems to be a consensus, we want a spyglass in the open world, which is probably a little thing, and we want open and closed gun ports, which may not be so little. As someone with not much time to play these days, I would like a practice area offshore of each port, maybe with some beef barrel target rafts or even NPC's and other players to spar with. I would just like to keep my gunnery tuned without having to invest 45+ minutes of uninterrupted game play. 4
Loukhaashj Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 But charters to other ports. Sea shanties. Indians(native americans) Able to conquer lands. bomb barrels. Port chain protection ( player owned ) day / night cycle
Peter Fouche Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 A OS latitude map would be nice Indeed this would be great!! What about a instance (like the battle ones) which the player could call up when he wants to practice sailing gunnery etc. In this instance it should be possible to go on deck of the ship, determine your latitude/longitude by means of a sextant (which should be determined by the player himself) and then a Latitude map where you could plot your position and make corrections in your course. I am currently sailing in a Easterly direction, destined for Plymouth from Port Royal... Been Sailing 7days and nights now, And I have no Idea if I maybe missed the Islands? Guess I will soon find out... 2
SneakyTurtle Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 The day night sequence in OW is to short. The wind change in OW is way to short. I have a Nvidia GeForce 970 and I see gradient lines on the horizon in OW. More so when I move my view up and down. In OW if I see a storm in the distance and move the view up and down a little the storm disappears and appears. I dislike seeing all the close up fog on the horizon every morning. I miss a lot of ships that I should have seen. Over all much less fog is desirable for me. When you come up upon a line of ships, it is hard to single out the one ship you want without getting more that you do not want to battle. (i.e. ship line spacing is to small). I love the night battles. You can smell the sulfur in the air with this much smoke. Thank you for the redeemable ships I need and can't find or craft. 1

Mulcaster Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 I would like to be able to hire merchant ships as well as warships. I would rather BE an escort than HIRE an escort. Would it be possible to sail with our own ships, that is, could I make up a "fleet" of my own merchant ships and own escort ships? 2
GrapeShot Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 That actually makes a lot of sense, especially when teleport gets turned off and goods have to be sailed from port to port.

MrWhuping Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 When you sink a ship -The sunk ship will have debris not attached to the ship itself float up like barrels and maybe some bits and pieces of wood. A large piece of cloth from the mast floating up there and what not. A couple bubbles here and there. Maybe a couple lifeless bodies lmao. 3

marecek05 Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 Beat to qaurters! Would be nice that you should clear the ship for action, and it takes a bit of time to get ready for combat. Get the marines out in the rigging and on deck, ready to board. Issue each sailor with weapons, cutlesses and pistols, load guns and run them out. Beating of a drum as a sound que when you attack or are attacked in the OW would be really nice. 1
Bart Smith Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 This is i want to see: - Possibility to see what we got in all warehouses (outposts) - Items sorted alphabetically in warehouse to find them easier - Clan members status with location (specific port) - Kills required for promotions showing up at open world same as in port. - Possibility to pass group leader to somebody else from group (handy when going afk) - Possibility to leave your fleet in port if no longer needed - When bots tag each other show circle so we can avoid time waste - Bigger merchant ships/s as we need transport more resources and materials now. This ones are some ideas form our TS as mine as well
Chustler Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 I would like NPC names to reflect the nation they sail for. Spanish names for Spain, British names for GB and so on.
droptuned Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 A OS latitude map would be nice How about zooming way out on the OW and you see older-style latitude/longitude lines like a map was below the waves? Just a thought.
MrWhuping Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 Ropes fluttering about when cannon balls pass overhead as they cut some of them.Maybe could be part of a damage indicator. More messy the rigging = how damaged the ship is.
Hugh Latham Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 select shot type on the os before combat initiates.
Brass Monkey Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 Be able to make notes and draw on the map with a full set of navigation tools. dividers ruler and protractor. For plotting curses and listing port goods. 1
