@adminA year ago or so I saw a post that said when the game is complete you might do a kickstarter to "fix" the connie model. Are there still plans to do this in the distant future? I could be mistaken

The idea has been floating around for much more than a year. Was first mentioned back in 2014. I don't know what is the status now though.

My guess would be that they won't make a kickstarter till after either or both of NA and Legends are released so that there are (hopefully) more than ~1000 people to potentially contribute to the kickstarter. If only a fraction of the playing population joins the kickstarter, then the current population is a little bit on the low side to even bother.

I would just be happy to see it rebalanced back to it's more stronger stat stage when it first came out.  Along with some of the other 4th rates I think if they give them back some of there old stats they would be better match with the Wasa which I still think should be moved up in BR and put in the 3rd class range.  Even if it keep's it's 4th class stats I think the higher BR would be better for balance as it would mean less taken into PB's as it sucks up most your BR.

Last thing i heard was when I ask a developer in game chat about a new Connie model. He replied that's it is still planed but for a later date but that was like over a year ago.

Comparing the Connie to some of the latest ships added to the game you can see that it was one of the first ships implemented into the game and needs a new model. Especially because the hull is modeled wrong.

Dear Santa, please send wind already

They really used triangular skysails?

According to Marquart´s Anatomy of the Ship, yes. He based this on a watercolour by Commodore Rodgers and rig list for 1815 by Chapelle, afaik.
