Does anyone think the change of the cost of wasa from combat to PvP marks helped the fact that it ruins balance and is OP at all? I think it only made things worse. Sure, people can't spam Wasa anymore like before but it is still broken and the best players have no trouble getting masses of PvP marks but things look different for the plebs and people with limited time. So just like the new victory mark for top nations it is supposed to be a incentive to fight but in reality it only allows the top dogs to snowball out of control while the losers and underdogs starve to death while banging their heads against superior ships... so please can anyone explain the logic to me here?

The way to incentivise people to fight for something they want is definitely not to make them fight the strongest with superior gear with the carrot on the stick being said gear, that's nonsense and eliminates balance and enjoyable gameplay. The way to go would be rewards that do not affect combat directly and do not give the winner even more advantage. Something like ships that are special but not straight superior. Even better would be purely cosmetic. Why can't we have paints back as RvR and PvP reward? If you would make paints untradable and only available for PvP marks on the PvP server ( obviously combat marks on the PvE server ), THAT's how you get people to PvP.

I mean, why not? Help me understand...

The cost of the Wasa note would work better if there were no Wasas around at all. A wipe. But its probably not the time for that yet. I don't like notes at all. I believe that all ships should be craftable.

Im still trying to understand the recent changes. You arent alone.

Me too.  This win more crap already failed huge this summer and now they do it on steroids.

I have not even bothered to log in and burn crafting hours since.  Much less march out of port to donate marks to others.

I think this just makes the game a battle between the 'haves and the have-nots' - with the folks already possessing Wasa's having a massive advantage over the rest of the players.  The real issue is the Wasa has the same BR rating as ships that are WAY inferior.  Indefatigable or Connie versus a Wasa - the Indefatigable is inferior in every way.  Slower, weaker, less guns, less crew.  The Wasa is closer to the 3rd rate in power - yet only costs 250 BR versus 380 BR.   Realistically the Wasa should have a BR over 300 - probably more like 325 to balance its overwhelming advantage.

...and get wasted by Wasa to feed its captain even more PvP marks for his next Wasa. Yeah, good idea mate.

people will alt farm pvp marks

And I can't even blame them at this point... I mean c'mon it was already retarded when everyone could sail it but now it is even exclusive to those who have the marks to get a new every time they lose it? People will gank in Wasa even more, because nobody wants to risk losing 75 pvp marks going solo or in a fight that isn't in their favour. GG

wasa needs 24 and 18 pounders instead of its silly 32s and 24s.

Also, nerf overall thickness for ALL ships by a LOT

Wasa - 250 BR
Trincomalee - 225 BR

Seems legit

I'm not convinced anything is permanent at all yet. I suspect the wasa issue will change again to some degree in regards to marks etc. It's just another attempt to get players to do more PVP, which is fine by me. And the 25 PVP marks really issn't that much. A decent player can get that in a few days. So it's not like it's making it that much harder to craft a wasa.
