Guest Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 (edited) There has been added timer until you can join PB after login so you could dodge screening fleets, but now a new mechanic is being exploited to dodge screening fleets, hiding in PvP battles before PB, under is the solution against this. "A port is under attack and there is dangerous waters for everyone around the port. The risk on setting sail until the port has been decided is huge, and the hostility around the port is big because of this, who knows? Is there an enemy behind the horizon, or is there a ship around that island waiting for the perfect moment to strike those that tries to smuggle their valuables out from the port?". ---- UNLIMITED JOIN TIMER FOR PVP BATTLES AROUND CONTESTED PORTS ---- This will stop the exploit on hiding in closed pvp battles until pb starts, and will open up more pvp content. If you devs make it so you could join as you could in outlaw battles would be great, so you could intercept the enemy in battle this would do so you couldn't enter the battle and sail miles away making it as the old hide in battles mechanic, and you wouldnt be able to have a join circle on land. I dont see any cons with this option and it will stop the exploiting which have developed the latest days or for how long it has been done. We got this in first Barahona PB - some swedish came screen but they cant join battle Rubli made with danish alt (or friend) because circle to join danish side was on land. So in this case your proposal not help at all. Combine your proposal with fixing of reinforcement circle placement would work better than system we got now i guess.

Joe Vong Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 when developers introduced "small" port battles, they did not come up with how small fleets would enter them. exploit pvp before the port battle - this is the easiest way for small clans to fight the Zerg. I hope that developers will come up with the normal rules of port battles, so that there is no need to use disputable methods

Guest Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 yeah they could also just do that, but by having an open battle with free join area it will get avoided because then a scout can jump into the battle to see where the fleet is and inform the screening fleet on where to join

Будет возможность убивать ПБ флот перед ПБ, Шведы сами с собой смогут воевать на ПБ. Думаю ход атакующего флота до портовой битвы под неувязвимостю был бы хорошим решением. Портовые битвы стенка на стенку, всё по честному. Не хотите чтобы флот дошёл на ПБ, убивайте уже когда хостилити набивают, там и зайти можно и отцепить. Ведь по идеи если флот набил хостилити, город уже в осаде и атакующий флот уже там, это только игровая механика и кровать заставляет гонять корабли туда, назад. И кстати заходить и выходить из порта, который под хостилити, тоже такой же эксплойт, или просто нелогичная недоделка. Итого: Миссии хостилити открыты 10 минут для всех. О набивание хостилити должно придти сообщение. Тоесть если где то моему порту набили хостилити 15%, приходит письмо-призыв (допустим от короля) нейтрализовать осаду. Если быстро организоваться, можно успеть уничтожить флот который набивает. Атакующий флот идёт на портовую битву под неувязвимостю. В город который в осаде, зайти не возможно. Выйти можно. Защитный флот который еще до набитого хостилити не в порту, тоже топает на ПБ с другого порта. Тоже под неувязом. Edited December 3, 2017 by Krists

Quineloe Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 This game very, very clearly is about exploiting the OW mechanics as much as possible. Ever since the wipe it has been an uphill battle to figure out which funny tricks the unnamed group of players has discovered now. It's pretty rough to maintain your motivation when your opponent "cleverly" uses game mechanics to teleport a fleet of 15 SOL out of a battle into a port and then you have a key dev respond to your post that teleporting to safety from a battle is intended if you use the mechanics right.

Nobody can catch you when u are 10 min away. So still easy jump out of the NPC-battle right into the PBs. What about a short "PB timer" like when you log in on open sea. This PB timer is nothing new and easy to set up. 1
Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 No NPC sailing around the port area from the moment the PB is setup until resolved in addition to being open all the time. In effect the area is under "attack". Port and city are under martial law and only blockade runners will do it. On top of that make it more harsh. No TP into the port after the PB is set. No Tow to the port after the PB is set. It works both ways. It works for big clans and small clans coalition alike.
Raxius Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 i like a lot of these idea's. tie them in with raids and then it provides purpose to counter-grind hostility, (though i would add a mechanic whereby if hostility isnt counter-grinded up to a certain point eg 25% then attackers can join pb on the inner circle as a penalty to defender, yes a clan needs 100% to generate the pb. but national hostility for defender can be used to mechanise access to inner circle) as well as screening. i like wyy's suggestion unlimited battle timer for pvp battles surrounding the constested port with 1 single join circle in the centre similar to outlaw battles of old. raids i think have been something everybody wants and yet to receive, clearly by the issues highlighted and the solutions suggested raids can be something implemented to plug the gap between uncontested hostility and purpose for defender to be protecting its port up until beginning of portbattle. penalties for defender when they dont show up as well as reward for aggressor by raiding/grinding for portbattle. money is no reward in these things, it must be pvp marks.
CaptVonGunn Posted December 7, 2017 Posted December 7, 2017 Not sure I see the issue.. You are attack-able for what? 45-60 seconds after you leave a Battle before you can join another one... If your screening that is more then enough time to grab some of them
