  1. 1. Do you think the Pirate refit LGV still worth the 150 Marks?

Is the LGV Pirate refit still worth it since its sailing profile was nerfed? Was planning to get one but everyone seems to have dropped it now... not worth the 150 marks anymore for only a nice paintjob and a few swivel guns that are more eye candy than actually useful?

I never thought the LGV would be worth more then a Constitution. Why pay more for a ship that lacks any ability to actually defeat or defend against something that costs less.

Well, it is supposed to be a pirate raiding ship and not a war ship. It only has a 10x 9pd broadside but it can enter enemy ports with the smuggler flag ( and even that people cried about even tho the ship has a broadside closer to a 6th than a 5th rate ... hate it when games are balanced around the worst players instead of the best )...

As someone that has purchased two of the LGV Refits (both before the change) I'd say save your marks.

There is a ship rebalancing coming, so we can wait and see how things change. Maybe the price will be more reasonable.

However, I don't like ships given through marks.

Lol, we are talking PvP marks here not PvE... any idiot can craft a ship but 1 PvP mark goes for 100k easily ( last time i checked anyways )....

I voted no simply on what I heard so far since i taken a break from the game until this last weekend I haven't gotten the PvP marks to get one.  The 3/3 slot, no boarding bonus (shoudl have moral like the P Frigate or prep) and what little perks it does have it's not worth 150 other than looks.

If it was more like the old Mahogony Pirate refit speed builds that I used to hunt down and board folks in than yah I say it's worth it, but even with the swivals and a bit more crew and chasers it doesn't seem like.

You know I was thinking what would make it worth the 150 PvP Marks.  Make it a BP not a note drop that way you can buy the BP and than make it how every you want and when you want once you have it.

I find it funny that one of the guys who voted with "yes" actually doesn't even have the ship and is a carebear that would never get it without buying the marks from real PvP players... gotta love the "show who voted" function. Anyways, thanks for the input guys, i'll wait for the rebalance but most likely skip it, if they don't lower the price.

Haha, this is what i noticed too... and that is why you always make the poll public so you can easily spot the clowns / trolls and get the real results :D

We did a poll once on Global (well back when it was PvP2) asking if we should attack another US port and which one.  It was mainly the US guys telling us to do it....we left it open for that reason.  It was funny as hell seeing who voted what.  It was suppose to be a joke as we didn't have plans to take another port from them, we just wanted to see them cry about being one ported and all (we only took two ports they had 20 something ports left and still had more than most other nations).

That is the lamest description of that era I have ever seen.  An era when player levels crashed to 80 during US prime time.

It kinda ignores the nightly gank fleets sinking every ship they found even inside Charleston harbor.  So yes, the threat to keep taking US ports was taken seriously.

WRONG when we did Operation Camel Toe (Wilimingon and Savannah regions on each side of your capital) , Dutch Oven (the bottom edge of map that was Dutch lands) and the Lone Ranger (all the silver ports owned by US, GB, Dutch) the average numbers was around 250-almost 300 a night.  PvP2 numbers actual went up while EU's where still going down when we did that.  Know why they went up?  Cause folks where fighting and not sitting on there arse hiding in port.   Oh and when I said 22 ports I was wrong you had 22 regions when we took those two so you had more like 100 ports.  There was a reason I was posting all that info about port battles and such.  We did a lot of documentation of what was going on with the server.   We found out when the players actually got active and fought the numbers went up.  It wasn't until the big carebear clans gave up and did, "lets not show up to bore the pirates cause they will go away if no one show" that the numbers started to drop.  It wasn't us that caused the numbers to drop it was big clans like yours and your carebear attitude to not fight.  That and the stupid alliance system that didn't allow them to fight each other was killing the small clans that wanted to fight other clans of other nations other than pirates.

And Joba did the poll right after we took one of those ports as a joke and like I said it was mainly US players saying for us to take more ports.  They wanted us to take ports from you guys to crush the allaince and prove it wasn't workign which it never did work cause half the time one side or the other wouldn't show up to help.  Hell when we where attacking the Dutch you didn't see any US or very few GB help them even though they showed up to help you in the US fights.  It seem the further you got from the US the lest any one help them.  But none of this has anything to do with the topic about a ship that is now in game.  My point over all was that polls can be silly cause half the time folks troll them and don't answer them truthfully or with actually knowledge about things like pirate mechanics and such, cause they go off what they think or hear instead of actually game mechanics and what is going on.

I wasn't even playing on Global then Texas, even from an outsider's reading the forums opinion that looks a very one sided view

Pirates have lost ports to both US and GB recently so why haven't you responded? Doesn't look to me like it's the carebears have given up looks very like the pirates have

The entire Notes to build a ship with no need for resources is a BS system designed for the lazy and with the new ships they added to it via the PvP marks makes the player economy even more of a joke

I can count the games on one finger that have a good functional player economy. People need to stop whining about that. It's never going to happen in this game. The server populations are way too low for it to be feasible.

I cant count any.. only truly good one was destroyed by the game designer years ago.. SWG.. EVE is next best I have seen.. but intentionally making it worse while at the same time claiming they want it better is silly

Eve has or had one. But this game never has had one and until they have 30,000 players online at a time on one server it won't. They need to stick with the subsidized economy and deal with it. People can make money selling to players, but going to completely player driven isn't not ever going to work. There will never be enough producers at current populations.

Then do away with the BS limited rare items in only certain ports and rare resources for ship building. It is either player driven or it is subsidized.. this hybrid is just not working

It's working just fine.... I have no trouble aquiring all the teak and white oak i need. As to parts for rare refits, it gives something to spend gold on lol. Everything can't be easy to get or there would be no reward. With rare resources you *gasp* have to sail into enemy territory and maybe pvp to obtain them.... works for me:)

You mean like the safe zones affecting rank 5+ players? So 80% of players on the PvP server are lazy cowards that only fight with ridiculous advantage on their side - if they fight at all but we can't force them to PvP on the PvP server, so why force PvP players to do the crafting and eco garb? In a version where PvP is everywhere and loss really matters, the ship for marks feature would be bad but in the current carebear game with the broken eco and gold raining from the sky onto your ship, it is just fine...
