CPU runs hot while playing Naval Action

I am wondering if there are any others with a known issues for Naval Action running your PC hot.

This is my Current graphics settings:

I have everything set to as low as possible.

And here is the temperature my PC is running while sitting in port:

And Finally, This is what it looks like just when I'm sitting in the OW and not doing anything

I'm wondering if it's on my end, or if there is a way to optimize Naval Action.
I am currently planning to get a heatsink for my CPU though.

I think its in your end.

Your CPU has not been overclocked so I would guess that you have too much dust gathered in the case and fans. other possibility is that your heat spreader has dried up quite a bit between your cpu and heatsink.

Maybe do a good clean-up and see if it helps. Those temperatures are abnormally high. Check that all fans are working as well, they do die off from time to time.

Also getting a new heatsink is a good idea if you are operating on stock cooler. (and overclock that cpu....)

Most likely dust so go and buy a few cans of air duster to clean the insides every other month or so  check if fans/etc are working properly also.

It also could be the thermal paste. You should refresh it all few years.

Given the nature of NA's gameplay I set the in-game option to limit it to 45 FPS in the OW so as not to over-stress the GPU and CPU when nothing is really happening.

what is the usage of your cpu playing game??? Temp means nothing without clock speed data. Anyway 90% is to much even if youre at using full potential of it. Coolling is your issue

This is after airing out all the dust btw, it was running even hotter beforehand, i only just looked at it recently.

I have never overclocked a PC, does it make a difference? Usually I prefer letting things run normally instead of burning them out in the short term.

Have noticed the game runs hotter in open world than in battle.

You should however never reach critical temperatures. So I'd say you have some cooling issues.

Only other program i was running during this time was discord.

In the past i have had pandora or youtibe going, but i have not taken a picture of the heat levels.

Are there different heatsink types for different cpus?

you may also want to look into regular fans both for intake and exhaust ( got a 200mm intake and 140 exhaust myself = positive air pressure )

you can find comparisons etc online, look for charts not just words. I can send you some charts in private if you need.

That's a few years old thought when i was making my own build so there might be something better on the market now, but then the prices for this good stuff would be lower.

Hey Teutonic! 

As some have pointed out i'm going to go ahead and say that it is your thermal paste which has stopped working properly. 

You don't have to be tech savy or anything to be able to replace the thermal paste on your own. Just make sure you are careful when removing your CPU Fan and the old thermal paste. I dare say though, be even more careful when putting the CPU Fan back in place (I've had a few mates crack their CPU in half when doing this... Brute force is not the way to go lol.) 

Also, if it is the thermal paste your computer should be running at higher temperatures all the time. Even when just sat idle on the desktop.

lol...  I recently changed my thermal paste and got so paranoid by everyone saying not to use too much that I didn't use enough...  ended up running hotter and I rechecked...  Paste hadn't spread over the entire CPU because I didn't use enough...  better now....  

I also re-configured my airflow and fans...  Cut a nice hole in my case side and added a giant puller and all is happy now...

I talked to my younger brother as he is even more into computers than I (I won't admit it though) and he recommended the same as well as a different heatsink.

I am now on track towards getting it all fixed so I can stop fretting about the heat haha.

Not sure if this exists on your system but Firefoot and I noticed after the patch our GPU shot up to 100%. The systems we have far exceed the requirements for this game so I am left wondering what could the issue be. While in port the GPU is at 12% and the second I leave port it climbs to 100% and stays there. My settings are the same as yours.

your rig smells like a store bought best buy HP or something.  

1 - make sure your heatsink and case fans are not full of hair and dust.
2 - re seat your heatsink with fresh thermal paste
3 - consider that NA now runs on unity 5 and will be more taxing on computers, in particular those with outdated specs
4 - if the above doesn't work, wipe and reinstall.  I know you're into that kinky porn, make sure you didn't download some crypto mining malware.
5 - build a better rig.
