Prepared perk first engagement problem

This was never a problem in the past but several months back it started and I never reported because I thought it was my pc spec but I'm not so sure now since some things have been getting worse.

The first time I enter battle after logging in it takes ages to go to the battle screen and so the prepared perk cant instantly load chain, i work around it by attacking an ai first before i do anything else because once i have entered the battle screen the problem disappears for all following engagements.  Then it started to happen for leaving port for the first time, takes ages, once i have left the port and re entered the problem disappears and its fine.

The upgrade to unity 5 fixed this problem at first but now it has reverted back.

exactly, when I move NA to an SSD the issue disappeared.

But before I work around it the same as you.

That's strange since I'm on SSD didn't notice any more "first loading" issue. Or more like, it's not so painful.

I noticed a marked improvement with SSD when I went from 8 to 16 gigs of memory. That machine always gives me at least 20 seconds to click before start.

I don't think most of the optimization has been done yet, so normal HD and 4-8 gigs might be sufficient after.

Captains, the first loading time problem depends on various factors, including ssd, free ram available, overall PC performance, amount of ships in the instance etc.

Perhaps we will review pre-battle timer in one of the next hotfixes.
