Guest Posted September 22, 2017 Posted September 22, 2017 Makes me wish that we could do away with all of the 'fog of war' 2-3 minute distance nonsense and just have a really long view distance to spot other ships from afar.
Alado Posted September 22, 2017 Author Posted September 22, 2017 the fun of the deadman chest and the bottle sealed, for me, is in search of them, if we see it 20 km, has no fun at all 1
Guest Posted September 22, 2017 Posted September 22, 2017 1 hour ago, Peter Goldman said: That would ruin "surprise" attacks. Hunting traders or anyone else would be nearly impossible. Naturally some game mechanics would need to be changed for it to work, but the hell if I care, OW PvP is virtually dead anyways in its current state and those who leave the safe zones can just teleport their cargo in anyways. For one, geography would still work fine to stage surprise attacks, and traders would no longer be virtually invisible on the open sea - in the current state you have to be extremely lucky to stumble upon a trader away from the coast because of the limited visibility distance. And without friend/foe info until at closer range, it'd be hard to keep track of all the sails (dots) that would now be visible on the horizon, and more risk/reward scenarios. Maybe those sails are pirates, or maybe they're just an AI fleet.
Alado Posted September 26, 2017 Author Posted September 26, 2017 today a new deadman chest and same bug:
