JochenHeiden Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 Today I was playing Gaines Mill as Union and the corps commander unit of A P Hill got ambushed by one of my brigades hiding in cover. AP Hill's icon disappeared and all of his mounted troops slowly faded away and disappeared off the map after the second the volley from my brigade. my question is, what happened to him? Did he die? Is he permanently removed from the game for the duration of the war? Clearly I destroyed the unit, but I am curious what effect that has on the battle and the campaign as a whole.
The Soldier Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 No effect whatsoever. Same goes for your Corps generals - they can get shot, but they won't die. Simply taken off the field.
JochenHeiden Posted September 21, 2017 Author Posted September 21, 2017 When they're the taken off the field is there an effect on the troops? I always thought having your corps commander radius on your units adds some sort of benefit. Is this benefit real or imagined? If it's real, if the commander is deleted does that put the enemy troops at some sort of disadvantage?
william1993 Posted September 22, 2017 Posted September 22, 2017 I think it does simply because they are no longer on the field for you to use as a rally object
