Its a shame that the PVE rng factor is still in place for books and refits. A better solution would be to make them horrendously expensive in the admiralty shop.@admin I love the new direction that you are taking this game! I think the current system for books/upgrades in PvE fine the way it is. It adds an element of excitement when looting and it also means that people who only do PvE still have a usefulness to the PvPers. However I think that the consumables (Hull/Rig Repairs and Rum) needs to scale with class of ship better. Thirteen Rum from looting a Santi is somewhat insulting

Thirteen Rum from looting a Santi is somewhat insulting I agree, it should remain as a PVE loot mechanic. However I don't like that PVE is the only way to obtain it thus making them available in the admiralty shop for a ludicrous price to complement them.

The idea is to keep them hard to obtain. Even if you make it cost a lot to craft in the admiralty, eventually people will have 1000s of combat marks and they will be everywhere

Built (full ready to action) Wasa and Le Hermione ships can be obtained via combat marks, you choose woods and trims by yourself like it works with redeemable ships on testbed server 3

mikawa Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 Most of the changes sound very good. Still unsure about taxation, but hey, lets test it and we'll see ... Can't wait to craft a L'Hermione. The new ships are amazing!

To appeal to the people with no attention span maybe. Perhaps some people find obtaining materials to craft ships boring and for some reason they are catering to them? Either that or it is just so that people can get them quicker so that they can be tested fully.

Why would anyone ever craft a 4th rate, spend the time gathering resources when they can just buy the Wasa complete? 1

The current system is rewarding PvE players more than PvP players. You get books, mods, cannons drop (only mediums, but still, in PvP battles you can't salvage cannons without capturing ships), you get way more gold and combat marks when we look at the time/effort/reward perspective. In addition to this, you get now 100% safety doing PvE in safe zones (just like on PvE server lol). Real PvP players are forced either to do PvE or spend millions that they cannot earn via PvP (only best can do that). Ahh and once again the elitism surfaces. There is a place for both PvE and PvP on the server and they can both benefit each other. It's a shame you can't see that. 1

I personally do both. Your statement implied that PvPers are somehow better or deserve to play the game more than people who do PvE. That's what make it elitism. I think that's the best way for me to survive in the world full of not trusted people. Basic Cutter Midshipman missions, if the script fails or cutter dies, I lose nothing. I can still get Cargo Distribution and mods/books worth 1-5m gold so I will set the script for 24h and enjoy. What are you even on about? You're talking crap. How would a script allow you to farm missions? At best you could use a macro to select missions in an easy to get to spot.
NethrosDefectus Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 Just now, Peter Goldman said: @NethrosDefectus I hope you do realize that I can farm my alt with current system and game mechanic. Put a ship to my fleet and kill with my main account. It gives me PvE rewards with RNG. Even better! It doesn't display in combat news, so can't be spotted by players easly. I can keep killing lynxes for example. I assume you are trying to make a point there? So basically so far you are just listing ways you that know of to prevent yourself actually playing and enjoying the game have paid for. However, I fail to see where you are going with this 1
Nelsons Barrel Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 Somebody wake me up when the games becomes playable for PvP-players, thank you. Meanwhile i go back into my cave. Winter is long. 1

Don't worry, macro for doing missions is also doable, just like in all farming à la farmville PvE bot games. By "macro for doing missions" do mean an AI script that you would somehow force into the game. A macro by its very definition is only any good for repetitive tasks. It wouldn't be able to adapt as needed to complete missions. I still don't understand the point you getting at though

The "H" is silent in French therefore we need to use a "l' " otherwise it doesn't sound good. It's like for L'Océan (l' or le means the). L'Hermione, I believe.
Sea Fox Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 Very good patch me thinks!!!!! Good job devs!!!
