it doesn't work that way. There won't be people from other continents. PVP global proves that tz balance is almost impossible. I'd like to see an equal playing field at least in timezones fighting. Fighting bigger pops in numbers AND timezones.

If that person was there, no problem at all. But lessons learned is that people in other TZ's tend to bunch together. So having a server with the same tz's saves us from that problem.

I'm assuming you only lose sleep if your spot is reserved, if we going to play ping pong with assumptions answers.

I only lose sleep if there aren't any others that can fill the slot. And practice has thought that there aren't/weren't.

We already contacted them before the server spilt. Their latencies made it impossible to play on the PVP1 server. It would be the same on the EU located server.

They won't go if the server is merged and located in EU cause of the ping.  Believe me it's no where the same as the AUS players.  The Chinese firewall is a pain in the arse for them.

That cause a Global Server needs to be located in a better place than your back yard.  It needs to be centralized for all players to give out the general best ping for all.  For a EU server I get really bad ping compared to other games I have played on EU servers cause of the location of the EU server and maybe quality of server?  Than again most of them are more West EU based not more central as the EU is.   Than again if ping doesn't matter so much than why can't the EU's play on a server located in the Global server location?  If they had done the wipe properly this wouldn't have matter.

No they don't.   @chailang can you do the honors and show a screen shot of your ping or have one of your guys give example of how bad your ping is from GLOBAL vs EU server?  From the screen shots I seen these guys are playing with pings in the 600 range on average.  While our AUS guys are in the 200 range on GLOBAL. I get around 130-160 on EU (40-60 on GLOBAL).   Where is that post on pings and server location?  IF the average is about the same over all on GLOBAL location over the EU than it would be the better spot to pick for server location.

Merging the servers will not increase the population significantly.

I've kept track of the numbers on both servers and if we merged we would have 50 or 60 more players on the single server.  It just won't make that much difference.

And it would be disappointing to lose players only because of a merge that just won't make any difference.

EU server probably 400-500ping  ，After using SSR, I can drop to 300 ping

Most of China's VPN has been banned by the government ，I'm using SSR now.

But I still don't want to go to the EU server because it will lose packets （Request timed out

For @Cornelis Tromp it is allways reserved. And he's not the only one who wants to sleep - My in-game nick is Lars Kjaer and I say: "Give players choices!"

If global is such a grand idea - then let the globals have their insomniac server. I for one have a job, an ugly mug that need its beauty sleep and a bladder that needs to go to the toilet ever so often in the middle of the night. #letpeoplesleepandletglobalbeglobalandtheEUserverbeEUserver!

The problem pre-wipe was the same as the problem on global atm. Ppl choose the factions they feel affiliated with - US and brits will rule the nightflips because the US and the brits has common language, history and cultural affinity. Regardless of the numbers that issue will persist wether there be 3k active players or 20 active players. I'm getting fed up with having to have the same discussions over and over again. If people want to go from the global server to the EU server - fine by me, but don't kill one server through merging in order to save another. If people want to play global - they can go for the global server and I'll be fine with that as well. I'd even have an account on the global was it not for the damn grinding of xp all over again.

And as has been explained on more occasions than I care to count it will make no difference. The "asian" population will join the factions they know or have an affiliation with and that means primarily the brits and the US. That the chinese has picked Denmark-Norway comes prob from the fact that unlike most other locations in the world the chinese has no experience with european colonialism. We've tried the nightflips - if they were so great why then is the global the server with the lowest pop numbers?

And *sigh* why shall we have yet another discussion about the servermerge? - the issue is not being advanced one bit and what in the world is the problem with giving people choices regarding how they want to experience naval action? - how about sighing less and working on improving the community on global some more so people can actually stand playing on it?

 Instead of calling for a merge that will leave both (or the remaining server) as empty as the global - how about you go about and making the global server a community ppl will actually want to be part off? And btw - as far as I know only the global server is anywhere near having a hegemonic power structure (which is due to the very imbalance of players that will ensure that merging the servers won't work) so please stop advocating for the destruction of the one server that actually works - if we iron out a lot of the kinks that has nothing to do with RvR but a hell of a lot to do with a gamedesign that is flawed in its basics.

I play on EU Server exclusively haha.... i'm just not being hello kittying delusional.
