Guest Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 (edited) Only if you can't destroy cargo before being tagged. Or switching cargo between ships stops you dead for 15 seconds. If someone with a fleet of brigs can destroy all their cargo when seeing a pirate on the horizon then whats the point of even pirating anymore. Its often better to capture a players AI ships because you know they haven't destroyed the cargo because they cant. Edited August 6, 2017 by Guest

And this is the main reason moving cargo around will never happen. Pirates get what they want so the hunting is easier and they can evade any ships that come to help their target while trade ships keep getting weaker and slower.

Cargo is moved around all the time and your trying to say that not being able to destroy everything in your entire fleets cargo hold to spite pirates is somehow making traders 'weaker and slower'. Destroying all cargo is just not fun.

Sorry, I think there is some misunderstanding. I was hoping this would be implemented on the PvE server where there aren't so many issues with exploits and the likes. This being said, if it is not possible to move cargo around, being able to at least look at what is in the holds would be helpful to figure out last minute changes in order to make an unplanned stop here or there to unload something. Again, sorry about not specifying the suggestion was for PvE play on the PvE server.
Macjimm Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 Good idea. So much potential for this game. Imagine, switching cargo between ships. That would be good. Or if we could enter and instance anywhere we choose to, And could pull up beside one of the ships in the fleet and transfer cargo and crew, and it would take time (depending on how much work had to done) and we could even take control of a fleet ship (transfer myself to it so it was my ship in OW) when it was along side. Or we could provide orders to the ship to sail to some outpost. And while it was sailing there, it would in OW and subject to attack. All that would be great. So much potential to this game. Sigh.
