ulysse77 Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 So any idea if the prototype for open sea will be seen before year end? Just wondering. This is already one of my favourite and I can`t wait to see what the future bring.
Leviathan Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 I'm quite anxious to get lost sail in the open world as well. 2
RAMJB Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 A fair guess is: It'll be ready when the devs think it's ready. I'm not in a hurry. Well, I actually AM in a hurry to test and play it. But what I mean is that it'll come when it's ready to come and there's no sense in getting impatient about it .
Flip Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Just passing through whistling a merry tune of a sea shanty. SFPEP - a code?
ulysse77 Posted December 8, 2014 Author Posted December 8, 2014 Just asking because it was posted somewhere that the alpha was this fall (which it was) and early access on Steam before end of 2014 and that early access meant a early prototype of open seas.
Balck Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 SFPEP - a code? San Francisco Peak Energy Program? 1
ulysse77 Posted December 8, 2014 Author Posted December 8, 2014 lol i got the same result doing a search lol.... and i fails trying to found an accronym from the sea shanties i could think of.
ulysse77 Posted December 8, 2014 Author Posted December 8, 2014 Steam Front Page Early Program ?? from steam, but i think it`s a bit old: Current alpha ship line-up Schooner Navy Cutter Light Brig Frigate 74 Exact replicas HMS Surprise USS Constitution HMS Victory The game will be shipped in 3 stages.Episode 1: Multiplayer combat.Episode 2: Upgradeable ships, crews, ranks, boardingEpisode 3: Sandbox open world, crafting and conquestEarly access content10 ships3 mapsThese will be available after we get greenilght and get our build approved by Valve.PC Only. DX11 supported video card required. If you have any questions feel free to ask. So we pretty much have episode 1 already. and from another post Prototype open world map needs several things to be implemented before going out for testing, we believe that we can get it done before the end of the year. Initially we will be testing the map size and travel time on the open world. Current size of our Caribbean is 16 mln sq km. It currently takes 30 to 60 mins real time in the fastest ship to reach La Grenade from Guadeloupe. And don`t worry im not impatient really happy with what we have now, just curious as if it is still the plan.
admin Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Well. Yes The end is coming Unfortunately we won't open open world for EA this year. I think. Infrastructure is untested, Valve does not recommend us to launch pre orders on steam. And sea trials took some time away, but we are glad we did it. Probably you too. 5
Henry d'Esterre Darby Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 No worries Admin. Keep up the good work!
Flip Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 San Francisco Peak Energy Program? Think.. flags
Balck Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Think.. flags I'm trying, I'm really trying... coming up blank.
Theuerdank Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 No worries Admin. Keep up the good work! I think the same! Patience with a finally good result is best. Meanwhile i can test the still few, but absolutely fine ships.
Flip Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 I'm trying, I'm really trying... coming up blank. Think europe
Flip Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 I'm trying, I'm really trying... coming up blank. Maybe this tidbit client/openworld
RAMJB Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Well. Yes The end is coming Unfortunately we won't open open world for EA this year. I think. Infrastructure is untested, Valve does not recommend us to launch pre orders on steam. And sea trials took some time away, but we are glad we did it. Probably you too. Whatever comes, I'd rather have it ready for testing than being rushed. So take whatever time you guys need . Also yes, I'm glad sea trials took time away from you
Balck Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Spain France Portugal England and ? Prussia? Piedmont? Pirates! Open world? Hmmmm Western Mediterranean? Close? Not even? 1
KillBox Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Snippity Snip! Current alpha ship line-up Schooner Navy Cutter Light Brig Frigate 74 Exact replicas HMS Surprise USS Constitution HMS Victory ...Additional Snip... I've always wondered whatever happened to the "Generic Frigate" seen here? The "Heavy Corvette" is the Surprise, the Leda-Class is the Trincomalee... where is this sea-green and white beauty I saw so long ago? Also, the Schooner from that page looks a bit more like the HMS Halifax (1768) than the Lynx. Did you guys decide to go with Replica ships instead? Just curios, of course. She looks a bit like the Lyme-Class Frigates.
Balck Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 I've always wondered whatever happened to the "Generic Frigate" seen here? That looks like HMS Macedonian as USS Macedonian. So we have a Lively after all Maybe? Especially when you look at the figure head as seen here: EDIT: Nope, never mind. Upon closer inspection, the bow looks nothing like the Lively-class. Good guess though. I like the Spanish
Flip Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Spain France Portugal England and ? Prussia? Piedmont? Pirates! Open world? Hmmmm Western Mediterranean? Close? Not even? Your close, although its already said it will be the Caribbean but you got the nations in the game data files correct, does it mean they will be it? No, but files do tell a story... client/animations/animationpack/navalaction/navalaction/marines/fight/mus-hg_05_mus-hg_01_a Tantalizing isn't it? >
Balck Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Yarr! Figured the pirates would be the Barbary kind since you mentioned Europe. But obviously the Caribbean. There was a screenshot somewhere of the coast of Cuba. Stoked!
Hyperion74 Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 I'm happy for now. I do look forward to the other aspects of the game. Even ECON. Lets move some cargo. Devs, you folks are lovely, thanks for this beautiful game.
Chustler Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 I am very excited about this game still, and I find it more and more fun with every patch we get! I can wait
