Stop pretending the game is based in C18th Earth and we are part of national navies. Stop pretending we are fighting for King and Country. This is a fantasy world where are looking to make a living and to carve out our own 'empires' based on war companies not nations. Or just allow create those charters for companies - they may be very expensive but allow create own flags for example or even own special ship paintings. 1
Guest Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 (edited) Questions about taxation: What happens with the gold generated from taxation? 1) Does it go to some central location (similar to the clan warehouse gold section)? 2) Will there be a way to distribute gold to the war company members? I would hope the answer to #2 is yes, otherwise the leaders will get all the gold and sharing it out will be very annoying. Edited August 2, 2017 by Guest
Prater Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 My concern are new players and capitals. I'm in a non war clan, just a normal pvp clan. I don't care about rvr and just pvp. But now apparently I can enter any nation's ports now? So now I can set up out of Christiansted itself and pick off missions and new players? I can see entering any normal port, but Capital Region Ports only the people of that nation should be able to own it and enter those ports. Same nation clans should be able to fight over the capital region, but not other nations. 7

This may be depend on company rank - members get basic pay out, officers more and leaders bit more to cover expenses 2

Capitals and Free Towns are where the major profits and trade exist in the game. Taxation discourages alts and promotes defending economic activity. You can adjust the system but you can't divorce it from affecting these ports. Capitals just could buy and sell newbi stuff. No contracts are allowed or just certain. So new players can get used to how NA works without vets exploiting them. There should be no reason for vets to hang around the capital. 1
Daguse Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 @admin Seeing there is a wipe and nations don't really matter... can we get a new set of forged papers? 1

However, this would cause multi-national War Companies an issue.

If you can find time when the clan port is unprotected you can take their warehouse and rob them. Building a bigger fleet for the future. Defending will be harder for smaller clans. Don't call it a capital - we don't need nations with this new game :). Call them home ports or something or starter ports. 1
Sella Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 (edited) Seperate the national fortifications of ports from the war companies. For example why should Havana which is spanish use its fortification versus two french war companies fighting for the economic rights of the port(taxation)? Allow the war companies to create colonies or outposts in the towns themselves, like it happened it Constantinople by the Genoese. Make them use the taxes to build fortifications to protect the outpost like the Galata Tower. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galata_Tower Edited August 2, 2017 by Sella22 3

Archaos Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 From a traders point of view I am a bit concerned that people not in a war clan can use any port in any ship. So now as you go about your trading a raider can appear out from any port. This will totally kill trading. 2

Nations will close eyes on the privateering activities in the Caribbean region allowing free combat in the region. Nations will start taxing all activities in the caribbean (stamp tax) on all purchases, mining or forestry and player to player trade Nations will grant charters (allow to create) for new type of chartered companies: war corporations or clans that will be allowed to establish control over regions in the Caribbean. current guilds and clans will remain the same new chartered war company will be able to be created by players for the purpose of region control and taxation." If I understood correctly, since you only mentioned European and North American (...Nations), Pirates are not included in these definitions and therefore would not be able to establish control over regions in the Caribbean. Please Admin, is this the correct interpretation? 1
