Captain Lust Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 What is the best wood choice ( frame / planking ) for a solo pvp pirate frigate in the current meta? I was considering Teak/Bermuda but the debuff on crew resistance doesnt seem like a good idea on a ship that is prone to crew loss...

If you can boost yourself with some speed buffs you can go teak/teak or teak/mahogony. I have them all except Art of ship handling. I have Art of cargo distribution but dont want to use it yet since i have the BP for ship handling and only need notes on rudder angles to complete it... I would like to carry a good deal of reps too, so whats the lighter variant you can suggest?
0 Hodo Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 I am of the Teak/Teak, or Teak/Mahogany school of thought. Cedar is to fragile and any shots that hit will penetrate and will cause crew casualties. Cedar also burns REALLY well. So not a good choice unless you are looking to be a fireship. 1
0 Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 Cedar is penetrated very easily but doesn't splinter as much. Cedar melts like snow under carronades. Some opponents were out of structure before the planks were gone. 2
