Capn Rocko Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 We have had multiple clan members spend hours upon hours grinding missions only to loot rum and rig repairs. Personally, I have grinded 4 knowledge slots on the Pirate Frigate and only have a Spanish Rig Refit to show for it. Even hull repairs are uncommon these days. Anyone else noticing less rare drops in PvE? Or are we having really bad luck? On day 1 of the wipe, everyone I know plundered multiple great items from AI ships. I agree it was almost too easy. But now it appears to be the complete opposite. It has gotten to the point where our PvE-focused clan members are quitting the game 1 by 1. I have even gotten a few friends to join the game and when they ask me what knowledge books to equip, I ask them what books they have plundered, and their answer is "none". If we can't have PvP rewards and can't have PvE rewards, what is the incentive to do anything in this game? 2
HachiRoku Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 (edited) I risk a lot in pvp and have no possible way to replace copper plating if i sink cause of this. Its 0-100 and back of balancing again. I dont care if i dont loot in pvp but if pve players could loot more maybe i dont need to pay 1mill+ for mods Edited July 12, 2017 by HachiRoku

Rychu Karas Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 Devs call this "drop chance adjustment" in their patch notes. Or for a better look. The drop chance multiplied. but forgot to mention that they multiplied by 0,001. Numbers rapidly dropping down. GJ devs 4

I checked the patch notes and don't see any "drop chance adjustment".
JollyRoger1516 Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 I don't know why games keep hanging on to this RNG crap. Honestly I am yet to see somebody happy about RNG. Even those that get lucky don't think it is a good idea let alone those who suffer from bad luck.
Diggled Posted July 13, 2017 Posted July 13, 2017 all items should be craftable in game. Make resources valuable and to fight over. Make labor hours and upgraded buildings worthwhile.

Make labor hours and upgraded buildings worthwhile. I agree that all items should be craftable and not RNG drops. Resources should be valuable but there should be some mechanic in game so they cannot be monopolized. Look at some of the items needed to craft the better mods, you will very seldom find them for sale in the ports they are produced as they are instantly bought up by contracts. These are the items that should be increased drop rates in NPC traders but they should also be randomly seeded in ports at random times and not capable of being bought via contract. Make it worthwhile for traders to go round various ports searching for these valuable cargoes. They should increase specialization in the game having at least 3 distinct professions each with some unique abilities. There should be Traders, Crafters and Fighters. Fighters could be further broken down into National Navy and Pirate Raiders. Bring in mechanics that make the various professions reliant on each other. Edited July 13, 2017 by Archaos 1

HachiRoku Posted July 13, 2017 Posted July 13, 2017 You think they should spawn perks in dead player ships? I would prefer everything in game craftable but having rng in pvp is something id rather not have. 1
HachiRoku Posted July 13, 2017 Posted July 13, 2017 Crafting is not a memory issue, its just lines in a text file. Adding resources is not memory intensive because they are all text. Textures, ship models and so on are.
Nelsons Barrel Posted July 13, 2017 Posted July 13, 2017 RNG is shit and will ever be. It's the lazy way to implement an upgrade-spawning system if you don't know how to make certain upgrades rare or expensive in another way. 1

When people are already quitting and complaining about gear grind ( and rightfully so ) in droves, it's always good to nerf droprate even more so the already discontented remaining players can get some more pisstake for their wasted time in pve... Keep at it, disciples of RNGesus! You know the game is hello kittyed when the PvP server couldn't have any more PvE without disabling players attacking each other ( even in PB lmao ) and PvE players are still quitting!
