Darayavahus Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Basicly the biggest drawback of teleports to Free Towns as it was before 'the Wipe' is the fact that one nation could use it to instantly jump into a distant location on the map and Grind Hostility before defensive fleets could reach that spot. As of now we have a cooldown on ability to join PB if someone logged off in OW. So the idea is to introduce simmiliar cooldown but for Hostility gain/creation after undocking from Free Town, of course cooldown would be dropped when a player docked into it's national port. I would propose a cooldown of atleast 3 hours. This way more PvP would be generated, with less sailing time wasted on the way to prefered "hunting grounds".
Koltes Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Port camping and jumping people around free towns was not of a lesser problem. 2
monk33y Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 If Freetown teleport is introduced, it should be using the old delivery system. Ship is there after restart, teleport to Freetown should be only open once every day. Teleport to free town should cost you all your crew! The cost of crew in Freetowns should be double or triple normal levels. (lack of skilled sailors) 3
Skully Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 (edited) First you need to distinguish between ship teleportation and Mister Smith teleportation. Ship teleportation has no place, if we want to have a strategic meaning to OW. I don't see Mr Smith teleportation to any asset as an issue. You sailed it in, so why not be allowed to control it. A "defence" fleet has two options, defence grind or offence grind. And yes, that means you can not be active at two locations at once. Same goes for the "offence" fleet. So no real benefit to either side. In your scenario it sounds more like team "defence" is over extending. The one problem I do see, hostility grinding is a relatively safe activity. Just pop PvE fleets over and over. Being in a battle instance bubble ensures you're safe for the duration. I'm more and more thinking that just having a fleet in OW County should bring up the hostility. Such a fleet can be scouted out and engaged by defenders. Likewise just having defenders in will counter hostility buildup. Then the only options for either party is engage or leave. Edited July 6, 2017 by Skully 1
