Capn Rocko Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 (edited) I have had some issues with the looting system and I am not sure if they are bugs or intended. Nonetheless, I think that the system should be tweaked a little bit to make it a bit more user-friendly. First of all, I have noticed that (after sinking a player) the first person to hit "x" on the ship is the only person who can take control of the recently captured ship. Anyone else who tries to add the captured ship to their fleet (after the first person hits "x" and "Esc"), is unable to. *edit* @Prater clarified this matter by explaining that you can hold down the "Ctrl" key and right click on the enemy ship to allow other fleet members to access its hold and fleet options. I therefore suggest that this option be added to the loot screen with all of the other looting commands. I understand if UI isn't a top priority, but there are many players out there that have no idea this option exists. Secondly, we are unable recapture ships after they are captured by AI. I understand that the game is programmed to not allow players to capture AI ships, but I think this situation should be an exception. Currently, the only thing we can do in this situation is sink the ship and loot the hull repairs back. Lastly, There have been many times that I have boarded another ship and have been unable to hit "x" (to loot) directly after winning the boarding because I was too far away. When this happens, I am forced to put my sails back up and almost sail a 360 degree circle just to get 2 feet closer for looting. It does not make sense that I can be close enough to board an enemy ship, pull my ship into it, fight on its deck, BUT not be in range to loot it after. I think that the looting range should be extended to the same as the boarding range. If compromises have to be made, I would rather have bigger range than a higher sailing speed cap. *edit* After thinking about it, something else came to mind. It would be nice to be able to see the information on the ship available for capturing. Its not fun capturing a ship and sailing back for over an hour just to find out it was store-bought crap to begin with. I hope these are things that get improved in the near future. Prater Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 For the first one, Right click the ship, click Open/Release to everyone or whatever it says (dont exactly remember what it says). Then others can loot it/capture it. 2

Prater Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 (edited) Oh, forgot to mention, to right click you have to hold left control down to get the mouse cursor, then right click on the hull of the captured ship and a menu will come up with the name of the ship, and under the name will be the option to open the ship up to everyone (if you have control of it). Capn Rocko Posted July 3, 2017 Author Posted July 3, 2017 They should just make the option to Open/Release on the loot screen with every other command. Its obviously something that is being missed by players. I guess that would actually take "work" to program the command into the UI. I will edit/update the OP when I get some time. 2
surfimp Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 Thanks @Prater I had no idea that anything was right-clickable, certainly not in the loot screen. Very cool.
CaptVonGunn Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 Just have it only open to grouped players of the person that got the kill or assist. And don't have them fully sink during the battle..
Malachy Posted July 5, 2017 Posted July 5, 2017 Actually you can recapture ships that have been captured by AI. A clan member lost one to an mov last night and we recaptured it.
