Are attack and counter attack the same strength?

They are both "attacks"

The way the calculator works is.

ATTACK - uses the attack modifiers.

DEFEND- uses the defense modifiers

COUNTER ATTACK - uses the attack modifiers.

Relatively yes.

Base attack and counter attack values are the same though.  But the factor of mods, bonuses, and ship sizes come into account.

Most mods will give you more to one or the other so that can make a difference. Some one might have a very powerful defense but little to no extra attack bonuses.

Sorry they are was half distracted when I typed that.  Was thinking Attack/defend.

No worries, so attack and counter attack are the same base strength then?
