Once you hit the bigger ships looting becomes...how can I put this...a pain in the bot-bot. The enemy ship stops dead...you are doing say 6-7 knots...and then you need to turn a circle...to what is most likely then going to be a sunk ship. Pesky one-on-one....suicide in a x on x.

So once you hit a 4th rate or above, I suggest, we get a LOOT launch. Use the mini-map. Pick the wreck and engage THE LOOT LAUNCH. It takes 2 mins to get there and 2 mins to get back, one day we can have little fellas in a boat heading out.

Huzzah.

I'd be happy if the ships just didn't sink so fast or at all. Make them usually strike their colours rather than disappear beneath the waves, sometimes sink, sometimes explode but usually just strike colours and give us time to loot them.

or just adjust your speed accordingly, plan when youre gonna sink the enemy like you do on smaller ships.

just a thought...

I already suggested a "Loot Command" for your AI fleet ships for this. Of course dropping a rowboat with a few dudes on it heading out to loot the wreck, would be cooler but more work to code, too. If i can get myself to grind some in the new Naval PvE Action, i want at least to to get my 12 rig repairs loot. Please and thank you.:)

Bring along some rookie in a lynx and pay him for hanging around and picking up the goodies so that you wont have to. :P Reminds me of salvagers in EVE.

Eventhough they already made it easier to loot ships, i totally agree, its harder to loot in big ships and its a tedious work, that is more annoying than anything else. If you are too slow the ship is sunk and you can't access it anymore. Some clans use a dedicated looter-basic cutter to get the stuff, but still, one guy has to work while the others can shoot... seems unfair.

Did I mention that i hate the RNG loottables in general? I mean how can you be competitive with that guy who got luck and got all usefull skillbooks meanwhile i only find pumps and cannons?

ah, my mistake.

did not understand that all the ships should be lootable in all situtations.

my bad

Yes, yes they should be indeed. PvE is for the lazy and those who do not seek challenge. If you make me waste time for this boring garbage only to get some gear for PvP, then i better get the loot from every AI ship. Especially since the droprate for good loot is retarded low. I play games to compete with other players in terms of skill and not to compete with unemployed dweebenheimer69 who enjoys farming predictable bots all day long so he can beat pvp players with his magic skillbooks and refits.

heh, arent the rules same in PvP fights?

They actually sink faster in PvP cause they don't have every freaking mods like the AI ships do, so yes you can have less a chance to loot. If you are fighting 10 other ships you shouldn't have time to loot just one ship.  Should of plan your fight better.

Let me know how that goes for you in PvP or a 4 on 1 PvE

Pretty much what it feels like when you stop next to the sinking NPC in Indef but it is like 1m too far out to pop the x ....
