Single World PvP/PvE idea

Have the devas considered... Have the current game map as is.... Then add several routes of sail to Europe(once you reach a certian point east bound you are in basicly PvE zone... For the sail across the Atlantic have that either even faster OW speed of just have it closer. But still a long sail.

Then the PVE films could do their thing in Med,Atlantic, Baltic and North Sea . and if they get brave make runs to the Caribbean. 

Yes I know it would mean long sails but then it could get truly interesting covering the trade routes.

Yep,.,... considered.  For a while they were planning on the pacific being the pve/rookie zone.

And than the GoM was actual not a bad spot for such but more on a smaller pop Server like PvP GLOBAL and PvE merged I think it would work. On a high pop server like PvP EU I think it would be to crowded.   To be honest if folks want to PvE only they need to go to the PvE only server.  Stop trying to bring PvE only to the PvP servers. Which in all honestly should be called PvP/PvE servers since you can do both at risk though.  I would love to see more numbers on any server but I'll be honest to say until the game goes live I think the PvE only server is a waste of resources for the Devs, but if they want to make those guys happy more power to them.  Not many Devs will go out of the way in a game in development just for a very small group of there current player base like that.  More power to them. 

Right now the map is all ready way big, we don't need to be adding more to it. I could see later instead of doing NA2 maybe doing some expansions of the Map as more content, but that would be way down the road after release.

If they ever make expansion packs I will gladly purchase them so I can sail more places and do more things. HAHAHA, I know it is a pipe dream but I would love to sail around the world. Europe, the Mediterranean and the North Atlantic would be a wonderful start though. Though there were no people or even AI ships I really liked sailing in the Pacific.

It is very easy to disagree with both #1 and # 2. In both cases, there are no "resources" diverted from PvP to PvE. Unless the devs are secretly working on some amazing PvE only content they are planning on rolling out at the next patch and reduced their work on PvP, I don't see the resources you are talking about.

In my limited experience here, all the work that has been done so far, thus all the resources, have been exclusively dedicated to PvP, then it's cut and paste onto PvE. I have not seen any PvE specific content that has been added in the last patch. It really feels like the PvE server is an unwanted illegitimate child born as a second thought...or worse, an accident.

Not many Devs will go out of the way in a game in development just for a very small group of there current player base like that... you are right! As long as they don't have to do anything but cut and paste, they will go a long way.
