I would hope in the future we can see  some  features where we have some newspaper accounts on how the war is going, maybe some  written words from the president ect... it Would add  some flavor.

When I started playing   the game And finished the   first battle I removed myself from corps commander and made myself a brigade commander. it seems your general gets  promoted faster that way. my general  stayed as a brigade commander  until the final battle when I moved him to corps 1  commander 60120 strong :) my character had been a lt gen for some time id hate to see my general die  the last battle of the war LOL he was wonded 3 time already. I am still upset after winning every battle in the game for the union a thank you would be nice from the old gipper wearing the and a  fist bump from old abe lol...

2. A dlc that could add a few more battles to the campaign, there are more  that could be added

4.random events, where your intell agents might sabatage  the enemy, or weather might  delay renforments.

5. Maybe a bio section for our general so we can see when he was promoted, when and and where we has wounded, and how many  kills and deaths that was his brigade inflected as well if he is a corps commander same would apply. I know there is a section in the brigade  officer section to view the kills, deaths, but does not show when he was wounded and not in command. I like making after action reports for role playing, I make aar for all my characters  in crusader kings.

There are truly a million things they could add and I hope they do. As long as it's financially successful then they should be able to continue to iterate.

I really like the role playing ideas you have suggested. I've always been sad that when a brigade gets totally destroyed you lose all history about it. There's no record of its past heroic deeds. I would like a Hall of the Fallen or something.

Hold on a second, that's actually a really sweet idea!

Maybe there could be a system like Rome II: Total War, where if you disband a brigade, you can form a new brigade "in the same tradition as the old", with all the same history as the old brigade. That would be great for players who like to regularly disband/reform their brigades to get better rookies.

Well adding things to a game is complicated because a game like this is a finely tuned balance between fun/just trying to win real time strategy game and a historical simulation that gives you the feeling of being in actual command during the war.

There are few things I would like to see personnally, if possible added into the game, but of course, the overall balance remains key and I am perfectly happy with the game as it is. 2 main things !

1/ A bit more roleplaying as said with more historical (or randam) leaders that would have traits affecting their battle performance and more importantly behaviour. So you order a brigade to hold but it sees the brigade in front of it rooting an you get a message saying "General Hood has decided to counterattack !" or you want your men to run to a position but you would get a message saying "Corps commander x has decided to go for a more conservative advance in the face of unknown opposition". This would have to be an option of course and would have to be tuned so as to be balanced, ie limited occurrences per battle but with the potential of greatly affecting a well laid plan.

2/ Ability to dig in : particularly later in the war, digging in whenever possible and whenever a suitable position had been found had become a key task of campaigning troops. Games like Robert Lee civil War General had crude but efficient ways of emulating this digging in. Here regarding the map and firing dynamics, it might not be easily doable, but it would also give more tactical flexibility in game to be able to do so.

Anyway those are 2 ideas by no means necessary but that would be nice to have.
