I had posted a Poll asking players if they would like to see map coordinates back on the PvE server, as I understand PvP players may not want their location pinpointed on the map through various types of communication (TS, game chat...etc), which my lead to ganking or some sort of "unfair" advantage to one or the other party.

Anyway, what surprised me the most is that not many people seemed remotely interested in either having or not having coordinates, only 10 people voted and it's a 50/50 split. Statistically the sample is too small to really gauge the desire of the community one way or the other.

Personally I feel we should either have the coordinates back or get some sort of tool one can use in addition or instead or the Protractor. There are some really smart players out there that can determine their position using the protractor, timing the different legs when tacking, using trade tool to triangulate...etc, but some are not that smart and if I can use another player's phrase, some of us "need game crutches".

The game is quite hard as it is, I don't think there is any need to make it harder.

If you are interested (or not) in having the coordinates back in PvE server then check out this link:

If you want something a bit more challenging, but more intuitive, then suggest it here or in the Suggestions subforum.

Thank you.

Thanks for providing some visual aids, they really help with the not so smart players like me. But I still don't know why you seem dead set against it. Do you think you could use words, try simple ones I could understand.

Thank you.

Don't listen to him. He's a salty hardcore flotilla member that wants nothing more than to make this game extremely new-comer unfriendly and basically kill the game before its even out of alpha.

They're the same people who will call anything to do with period navigation "GPS" which is well....massively stupid.
