Proper Placeholders for Generals?

I was wondering if they will be getting proper photos for the generals in the game. I used to play American Civil War and they had hunderds of photos/paintings of the officers. Love they idea of the game and have the Gettysburg  version, but hate to play a game that uses generic officers portraits for generals we all know and love.

Officers that are based on real generals, like Brewster, Grant, Lee, and Archer (all of which you can get in the campaign) all have their own stylized portraits based on real images.  Random officers have randomly generated faces, skin tones, hair, and facial hair, which is fine for me.

OP is right. Many historical Generals still have random placeholder portraits in the game in version 0.90 of the game. Most of the Generals who were in UG: Gettysburg are depicted with accurate portraits, most of the other Generals are not. Grant does not have an accuarte portrait atm, just a placeholder pic resembling him a bit.

I hope there will be more accurate portraits of historical Generals for version 1.0 of the game, at least for the more well known like TJ Jackson, US Grant, William Sherman, Ambrose Burnside, Joseph Hooker, George B McClellan, AS Johnston and more.

Also would like to see an option to select a portrait for our own General (player character)

Many have placeholder portraits?  Who?  Fairly certain 99% of the historical (or "hero") commanders have their own unique portrait (or a mix of the random + unique stuff that gets it close enough).  Pretty much all the people you listed (minus AS Johnston, who still has white hair and looks more like that other Johnston) have their own portrait that's recognizable enough.  Grant looks like Grant, Sherman looks Sherman, Jackson as Jackson, etc.

It would be nice to see ALL historic Generals with their actual portraits.  Having some that do and some that "look close enough" just seems lack of uniform & unpolished.  I'm sure they'll resolve the portrait debacle in version 1.0.

And I second Ross24899... I would LOVE to see the ability to change player avatar before starting a new campaign.

Maybe my game is messed up but grant and shermans portraits look nothing like grant and sherman

Maybe the game is still in early release and they don't have all the polished touches in place yet?
