RaimundoJoe Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 As lons as this PvP Mark crazyness goes on, bad blood will continue! 2

Guest Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Could at least have tried the mission-less scenario, having fleet missions left in just meant that most people solo'd those (or suffered if they were incapable of doing so), and now that solo missions are back we're back to exactly how it was. So the "get people into the OW!" is now.....the boring parts of sailing across open oceans for hours on end... Disappointing backtracking. The rest looks good.

I would say maybe drop them down to only the smaller guns. Like only 4lbrs or knock part of the numbers down (snow second deck can be dropped off). They are prob going to be a pain now for any solo player if some one brings guns. I haven't tested with guns to see how much cargo space is lost. Finally gankers will meet some risk, especially if the trader is empty and sailed by a skilled PVPer (a new kind of players, that I'd call "Yarrebears"). Edited June 13, 2017 by victor 2

Yes, because the big issues are so easily handled in just a few days. After all, being so easily fixed is why we call them "big". 1
William Livingston Alden Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Demasting rebalanced. We were not satisfied that too many pvp fights focused only on demasting and it will be much harder to destroy lower mast sections from now on. Good to hear - but a little bit late. And I'm quite sure that a lot of players where also not satisfied with that. But think about that the players should be satisfied and not you :-) But anyway a "LIKE THIS" for your effort.

William Drayman Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 "Solo orders are now available for all ranks (despite they were reducing the feel of the hunt - players loved them). It was a mistake to remove them before mission agents were implemented." Great to see these back, thanks guys. Admitting it was a mistake is a nice touch of humility, too, very encouraging. Keep up the great work. 1
Siegfried Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 My only concern is the buff in the snow. More guns, and now more streng and speed? I heard that a ship have more speed with the lenght of the hull. This ship is shorter and with less sail area I think... the other 6th class are more useless now.

Rychu Karas Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 It's a bit sad that most of the content in the patch is only focused on reverting the same things again and again and again. Nice that you give us missions back, but who demand to remove them? ROE 1,5year ago was almost the same, as you propose now. anyway in general it's a good fix.
HarryButpain Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 (edited) Regarding the mast thing, I hope you guys took into account that players have to make use of mods when they wanna defend their masts and sails.. Running all extra dmg/dps doesn't justify a nerf, just because ppl tend to favor those.. Edited June 13, 2017 by HarryButpain
Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Overall solid. Good changes and quite eager to feel the changes the ships mentioned. Also "Solo orders are now available for all ranks". Sure. I know this is a insistent request by a lot of us players but in a PvP server... I will say "careful what you wish for, for it may become a nightmare", and it has started already.

Looking forward to hunting these now, I will test in a cutter when I'm home from work. Sounds fun though. RA single missions back, ABOUT DAMN TIME! lets go farming. <---my clan will be chomping to get on tonight. Fix join as a group now and we are almost civilised. Edited June 13, 2017 by Jesters-Ink
Koltes Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Like everything exept reduction of join timer. 5 min was much better compromise between insta close and forever open. Taking no GPS and coordinates plus no teleports reduction of timer was absolutely unnecessary. 4
Niels Terkildsen Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 1 hour ago, admin said: ROE timer problems fixed and some timers are tuned. Players will no longer be able to attack directly from invisibility Invisibility timer reduced to 30 seconds (players coming out of invisibility won't be able to attack for another 30 seconds) Battle closing time reduced to 3 minutes from 5 minutes The issue still remains that you can hide in port and still join a battle. If we are to try 3 minutes, why don't we adjust the cool down put in place to prevent hiding in ports as a viable tactic? It seems like an attempt to compromise, which is fine, but it fails to address the real issues. It's great that there's a restriction lasting for longer after invisibility. That'll hopefully make it harder to abuse the invisibility. Why did the invisibility time get lowered though? It's like you fixed the issue with abuse of invisibility, but then also removed the usefulness of it... It's going to be even harder to escape from revenge fleets, and it was already nigh impossible. 3
Smithy Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Mostly positive changes here from what I see. But as said above I dont know that reducing the invisibility to 30 seconds was a good move. even at 60 seconds you were very lucky to escape. now with 30 seconds half of which will be spent just getting turned and up to speed having reentered the OW. 5

It should be 30 seconds before you get kicked to OS, and 30 seconds invisibility. and lose all the loot? nah
zaba Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Looks good. My only fear is that demast has become too hard (don´t try yet). It´s true that were too easy in the last patch, so here is the point, hope finally dev´s find the balance. Combat is the goal, i think, in this game. Now is great, but if they achieve these little details we´ll got the masterpiece. In the other hand, is hard make everyone happy when we have a lot of different opinions. Good job.

Or a fleet of 4 that will see to it that the last thing that goes through your mind is your bum. Nice touch for the PVP servers, risk versus reward. 1
Sir Texas Sir Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 42 minutes ago, admin said: you can sink any trader in a basic cutter with 4lb guns LGV doesn't have stern guns so easy to camp. Now try that with a trader snow tanked out with all guns and still able to carry cargo and see how long your basic cutter last. I'm going to bet not to long at all against most players. So now the LGV is pretty much the only trader without rear guns (Lynx being the other one) so is it going to get some chasers on the stern too? 2
Harry Collier Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Huzza for solo missions!!!!! The other changes look like they are in the right direction too!
Powderhorn Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Mast thickness might have been buffed too much. Surprise can only be dismasted (lower section) at 50m by 32lb carronades, 12lb longs, or 24lb mediums, for example. 8
