I found this skillbook in a shallow water port. All it gives is HANDBOOK_MORALE_BONUS:6 . Seems more than useless. Did i miss anything? Could i have used this for something else, had i not activated it for my skill pool?

Do you board ships a lot? 6 extra morale might make a difference if you have nothing better for thst slot

There are some Skillbooks that can, don't know if they need to be, crafted.
I found a crafting recipe for "Gunnery Encyclopedia" for example, which contains 4 other skill books which seem to be quite rare by themself.

The skill books are quite new for everyone and as far as I didn't miss anything there is no explanation which book is good for what purpose.

Neither I know wether a crafted compendium skillbook just contains the ones one used for crafting it, or if it gives better skills or a special skill you can't get any other way.

And here is the catch. You do have something better for the slot, unless you just started out in basic cutter.

All depends on the drops you got. I have found 1 skill book in a week of playing 3-4 hours a day. Others i know have goind 6 or 7 in same time.

I guess the main problem here is that it's hard to know if you should use a found skillbook or if you can craft something with it.. 
Even if you know of other usage for the book, know one knows what those crafted skillbooks do..

We are test players of a game in alpha phase without information of what exact mechanics to test, because the devs leave us blind in so many points.
"Pray Button" as famous example.
 

We should be told in more detail of how things should work and should get more information about new mechanics or objects. How should we recognize a bug if we don't even know what is supposed to happen?
