The Idea is simple if you get attacked in a Trader you can surrender your goods if the enemy accept it you keep your ship but the enemy gets the goods, maybe a nice idea for trader and also for pirate and raiding trade lines gameplay esspecially with 1 dura wich can be hard to replace by a new player. I think Pirates of the Burining Sea had something like that to.

True stroy:

I was attaking a trader it was 50:50 that i will get him or that he gets away. He made a suggestion to pay me some ransom money in exchange I promised to let him go. We met in the next free port he gave me the money. Win win for us both.

Let the trader drop sails ( at own risk ) and let the raider inspect cargo and take what he may.

Pretty sure a lot of trader captains would lose some cargo but be left on their way with a portion of it.

( similar to RL some would simply be put to the sword by some less scrupulous crews )

Could be a great way for both parties - the trader keeps the ship, the attacker loots the hold... Ofcourse that requires a lvl of trust from both..

Well the mechanic i imagine would be that the trader presses some kind of surrender button and the attacker then can drive close and press x and loot the trader but is not able to attack or so. Of course i dont know if that is possible to code for admin and the other devs.
