Server Status - "connection error"

If you got the login message "connection error", there is as temporary issue with the Steam authorization server.

Recently today i tried logging in through the steam log in and all i got was bad name - bad name - bad name - Servers down or something?

Yep, it does look like servers are down, they said a patch was going in today.

 

 

They will let us know when they are back up

Do you know what the patch is including?

I think it will be the new PvP functions.

 

They also said that they may be wiping all progression to date.  Just setting expectations here

I know the server was down for maint. today but now a get a message comes up PROTOCAL IS OUTDATED is this the same a server down?

If you got the login message "protocol is outdated", the servers are down for maintenance.

Do you know what the patch is including?

 

The main thing I know about is that they removed BrigMR as a requirement to get to Victory.  They also severely nerfed BrigMR's ability to hit and damage things yesterday since people were using them for orbital strikes on defenseless players.

+1 always check this first. Usualy its just a planned update.

Good to know, I am not the only one. I will keep an eye on the topic, but this downtime seems rather long (especially if you are as eager as me on playing for the first time  ;-) )

I can understand your excitement to get started, but they're adding two new ships today, cut them a little bit of slack please.    Most outages are usually pretty short.
