Do characters transfer between servers or are they stuck?

I'm PST, so which server should I be in, so I don't have to battle at 3 in the morning?

Thanks

Only the European server will have RvR restrictions that limit when Conquest can happen. On the global server there will be no limits to prevent you from having to battle at 3 in the morning.

Thanks guys, but can you move characters between servers?  I have a 1st Lt in PvE.  Can I port him to PvP?

you need to log in now (before the wipe) and create characters on the two other servers. you might also need to sink one ship "just to be safe".  then those servers will know you crafting/xp levels and you'll get them back as redeem-ables after the wipe.

Both, one is for shooting, one is for fun.:D

Seriously though I don't think anyone can say at this moment how either server will play out with so many variables atm.

Choose a main one after a week or so that suits you best and play the other as a nation you wouldn't  normally choose but want to try something new is my advice.

@Rifleman57

Nobody currently knows which server will be the most populated.  Each faction of individuals is trying to work their hardest to make sure that "their" server is the more populated of the two.  Unfortunately, there is, as always, politics and ulterior motives at play.  The two servers are segregated because one faction wants unlimited port battle times, the other wants a pro-European port battle time.  The one that is more populated will be seen as "right."

I personally am hoping that the Global server is the more populated of the two.  I would encourage anyone to head that way, just as the European faction is encouraging people to head their way.  I think, ultimately, we will need to find a global solution regardless.

It is important to know yourself and your social groups.

Simply put, #naglobalserver all the way in the case of many players and groups.

EU server though will simply and only limit the Port Battle timers, that's all. A fair deal of european groups will stick to EU.

The most worldwide communities surely go #naglobalserver

I'll be staying on pvp2 which I assume is just being renamed "global". I'm actually kind of excited to have most of the north american players on one server again like steam release. Not to mention Aussies/kiwis/Brits/Asian/ and possibly some other Western Euros.

I respect a great deal of the effort you put into this game and most of the posts you make but that is a one sided view @Anolytic I would put it that the Global server is inclusive unlike the European server that will exclude players from outside Europe from participating in RvR because of reasons.

At least it's honest about it, when a timezone monopoly leads to more than a 4:1 advantage with minimal effort you'd might as well exclude the other side from even trying.

I guess the only play to see the future of a server is to look at the past.

Global will most likely have a more open ballanced server population (not per nation but instead players on it each timezone)

European server will most likely peak at 5-11 pm gmt, then dip down to the levels we see the pve server. (not surprising since all battles are time locked on the EU server- you can thank our vocal crying friends from Europe nations from pvp1)

You need to ask yourself what do you want to do.

Pvp on eu server will most likely be gank then be counter ganked. High numbers at key time's.

The global server will most likey have a higher overall population but it will not bounce as much as the eu

As I pirate I aim to just steal ships

I can already guess how the locked euro server is going to go. They asked for it. I'm just hoping they don't come to global bitching and moaning and attempt to change that server as well when they see the numbers. I may be wrong but I doubt it.

We all know that in 6months when the Devs merge a empty eu server with global. We will get a new wave of salt over nightflips etc. Watch this space
