jamieva Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 Playing campaign as CSA on colonel level. I had won every battle leading up to 2nd manassas. I lost 2nd manassas at the morning of the first day (after Groveton farm). And as a result my campaign was over in defeat. I have lost in campaign before, but not after 1 battle. Ideas?
Fred Sanford Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 Be careful about letting your rep get too low. Check the consequences in rep loss for each battle before you start, and make sure you don't use the rep to get more stuff unless you still have enough to provide a "cushion" against a possible loss. Or just don't lose.
Sir Texas Sir Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 And I think some battles are auto lost no matter what if you don't advance, but I haven't played enough to be sure of this.

No, you can lose any battle and still continue unless your reputation drops below 0. That's probably op's problem, having spent his reputation and then lost more than he had in storage and was fired from command.
Bobby Fiasco Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 Since the game gives you a neat little bio when you start a campaign, it would be cool if it did the same when you wash out. A little something about how you spent the rest of the war at a desk job in the department of munitions, and wrote an embittered memoir in 1867 It would hearken back to 90's adventure games - I'm thinking about Pirates! specifically.
