Magnet Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Hey Guys, Been a long time lurker awaiting my beta key. Thankfully I was one of the lucky ones who received one yesterday. Anyway, I videoed my first foray into the Naval Action world. Needless to say I am extremely impressed by everything I have seen and am thoroughly enjoying myself. Sometimes the PVE battles can be a bit stacked but never the less I'm still having bucket loads of fun getting into some lovely bits of action. My video had to be split into 3 parts due to issues when encoding and so far only the first part is up but expect the rest soon. Enjoy! Mag. 2
Magnet Posted November 23, 2014 Author Posted November 23, 2014 Parts 2: and Parts 3: Are now online. As you will probably see when you watch these, I by no means call myself a competent sailor but as mentioned I am very much enjoying this game. Therefore I look forward to continue playing, developing my skills and knowledge as well as watching this game realise it's full potential. I happilly welcome any comments, criticisms or advice! Mag. 1
Mirones Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 do you have any controller issues since i noticed at the beginning of the first video through the others that you only use full left full right ruder settings. basicly making your own life harder tiping A or D twice = hard turn pressing normally uses ruder only aslong you hold the key.
Magnet Posted November 24, 2014 Author Posted November 24, 2014 Yes! I worked this out in subsequent games that I have something that is forcing full left rudder. Being my first game I had thought it was just how the ship handled! I had vJoy installed like another player who has having similar issues. I uninstalled that but the problem remained. I've re-assigned my joystick axis now but haven't had a chance to test due to the server being down last night. Mag.
William Reade Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Thanks Magnet, enjoyed those a lot. Like you I'm also struggling to get control of the controls and so learned heaps.
GUNNYHIWAY Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Yes nice video's I watched them and helped Padraig O'Fawlty out since we use the same teamspeak! He said to me how do you know how to do those things? you dont have the game yet? I gave him this thread link He laughed and I laughed at him lol
Magnet Posted November 25, 2014 Author Posted November 25, 2014 @Padraig - Thanks mate. I'm really glad I could help. I'll be doing more videos as I get more confident with the game and will introduce new subject matter as I learn it @GUNNY - That's funny! I'm the sort of person that jumps into a game and just figures it out (bar DCS). With Naval Action though, due to the wait I watched a number of videos from testers on YouTube and picked up a few minor things. The single ranging shot I had seen on YouTube but if you read the global chat in the first part of my video you would have seen someone mentioning how to do it (space). That's how I learned that @Mirones - No actually! I play a bit of DCS (a flight sim for those unfamiliar) and faced the choice of buying and Oculus Rift or TrackIR for head tracking. I ended up getting the Oculus. However, I run an AMD R9 290 and AMD no longer support DX9 which is what the engine for DCS is based on. So for whatever reason it is impossible to play DCS on an Oculus with an AMD card, thus no head tracking for me. Not wanting to buy a TrackIR after investing in an Oculus I did a cheapie and used a program called FacetrackNoIR which uses a Web Cam to control where you look in game. That software installs vJoy I've been itching for the past couple of days to get back into game and do another video. Hopefully now the servers are back up I shall be able to do exactly that! Mag.
